Meanwhile I also have a Level2 charger, but that is just a backup in case the need for faster charging arises. If you commute is such that nightly Level 1 charging is sufficient, the BougeRV one is a good choice. Since my car sends all sorts of information onto my phone and allows stopping charging, setting limits etc., I do not see the need for anything beyond what this device does.

Appears to be a working level 1 charger. Yet I doubt it was manufactured by BOUGE RV; I was replacing an old one and production tags don't match in design or numbers. Also my product appeared to have been open previously. It was clean but the zip tie that should have been holding the cord was cut and not attached (would expect 2 for this size cable, nope) . There was another empty bubble bag (for what?!), and a protective bubble wrap bag around the charger plug. Shown in the picture and Not included, an additional short adapter cord, which in my original charger order couple years ago (clearly from a different seller) that was legit, included a Nema to standard US 120 plug adapter. It's literally at the top of their product image. I do understand This is a level one charger but was optimistic that I could use my existing wiring setup because a properly designed and built charger will default to what it can handle and what the car ask for. This has a short hard wired 120 grounded plug only, no adapter needed not available, unlike the original. Like I said this could be a badly restocked return with a missing piece (although the product is listed is new) but it makes me doubt the integrity of the product, the seller, even the safety. I am planning to return it and have ordered something from another seller.

No complaints charging my 2023 Kia Niro. Since it's a Level 1 charger I don't expect super fast charging. Super easy to unpack and plug in right away. I also appreciate that it comes with a carrying case.

This Portable EV charger tripped my electrical panel, and today, it caught on fire. I thought someone was burning leaves, only to find a fire in my garden. I was disappointed, and fortunately, this happened during the day and not at night when we were sleeping.

We've been using it regularly for five years with no issues.

It never allowed full 100% charging. I had to turn my vehicle charge rate down to 80% so that the device wouldn't trip the internal breaker. Even that only worked for a year and now it won't charge even at 50%. I won't be buying again.
