Technology subverted? Who has the capability.
I enjoyed this book immensely! The extrapolation of current technology levels to just a short time in the future rings true to my experience. Having worked in banking technology for decades during several attacks the efforts made by the team feels true. The character development of the team and their interactions internally and to external contacts lend verisimilitude to the story arc. There is the main driving storyline of the financial attacks by an unknown group intent on market manipulation - but who are they? All during the novel I kept thinking this group or that person but was pleased with no resolution!Disclaimer - I received a copy in a book giveaway.

An amazing thrilling adventure
A great book at the crossroads of Mr Robot series with a touch of Yuval Harari. Set up in a a near future, the author takes you into an amazing journey across the perils of cyber world. I enjoyed this book tremendously as it’s helps you visualise the impact of drones, IoT devices and how we’ll interact with the virtual environment, as good as Harari’s predictions but much more entertaining reading. Cannot wait to start the second book.

A realistic look at future cybersecurity attack that will delight nerds and non-nerds alike
This book takes place in 2045 or thereabouts and concerns a penetration testing cybersecurity firm in London that tries to stop an attack at a large bank. The author has some great literary tricks up her sleeve, including a gender reveal about one of the main characters, loads of by-play between the team as they try to track down the mysterious malware, and more tech hijinx. The appeal bridges both techies and non: the details are realistic enough but not too overwhelming (you don't need a computer science degree, for ex.) and if you are a fan of SciFi you will appreciate the sly references (42, anyone?). It presents a logical view of the future, including the spread of driverless cars, blockchain, and carbon credits. I highly recommend the book, and note that there are two sequels that have been published to sate your appetite.

A fun cyberpunk series debut!
Baucherel deftly weaves different characters' storylines together in this fast-paced techno-thriller. She clearly knows her subject, but never gets bogged down in technical details.

An excellent debut novel!
Kate Baucherel’s debut novel weaves a fascinating narrative that draws the reader into a Britain of the near future. This was the first time that I’d stepped into the world of cybercrime, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Kate skilfully negotiates the path through the complexities of cyber banking and make the whole process very accessible. Her characters and descriptions bring the 2040’s into vivid life. Cameron Silvera and team are experts in their chosen field but are subject to human frailties. It all adds to their relatability. After all, in twenty years time, people will still be people, with their foibles. An excellent read and a real page turner. I’ve just bought the next novel in the trilogy, ‘Hacked Future’ and I forward to immersing myself once more in Cameron Silvera’s society.

best beginning of a book that I’ve read in ages
Bitcoin Hurricane has the best beginning of a book that I’ve read in ages. There are all sorts of gems in the book as the story unfolds and I was kept fully entertained until the end. References to computers that I grew up with that used to belong to the main character’s mother. Yes, her mother. Great to have a book with many women who are scientifically literate, but the book doesn’t stop breaking the usual technical stereotypes there and you’ll have to read it to find out more as I’m not going to spoil the story for you. Other than it has some great cat characters in it as well as human ones!I thoroughly enjoyed the first installment in the SimCavalier universe and will be reading the next two books in the series straight away.

Highly imaginative and gripping story.
A brilliant story set in a high tech world of the not too distant future where wars are waged between hackers and a team of anti-hackers lead by the SimCavalier. An amazing and well thought out plot kept me reading to the very last page and left me wanting more. I will definitely read the rest of the series. Keep up the excellent work and I will keep reading.

The Language Plods
Love a good techno thriller but the this was painful. The writing style plods and just feels clumsy to me.

Cyber crime adventure
I loved reading this first book about the adventures of Cam and the Cyber crime team. It's fiction but it gives a glimpse of what our lives may be like in 10 years time. I loved it!
