I own five dogs. One of these is a jumper and can escape like Houdini. So I need to walk her and give her the ability to run around some.This leash has been a lifesaver. I can take her out the front door and control her with a short leash near the door she a long one away from the house. It works fir me and she likes it. Rather than run away she cruised around while I walk and dies her late night pee and sniffs around and when I want to go back in she follows me.I can tell you how much this leash has improved my life. My escape arrow dog gets her freedom and I don't have to chase her all over.Last week she escaped and I found her limping white a bruise on her shoulder. I think she was hit by a car after she broke free of another leash. I've been terrified I'd lose her. I'm still worried but much less so.

I wish it would allow me to give this ZERO stars, so they get one star.Did not have this leash a month and the cord button broke. My dog is 17.5lbs and it would not even stop him from pulling the cord out of the leash. I have owned 6 retractable leashes in the last 15 years and this by far is the cheapest, most unreliable leash I have ever owned.DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!!! It is a piece of JUNK!!!!!

The retraction system is of very poor quality. Often the cord does not get pulled back in and ends up getting tangled around my dog's feet. Also, the locking system is difficult to undo, so it is difficult to go back and forth between letting my dog run far from me and pulling him back to "heel." The previous retractable dog leash I purchased did not have these issues. I bought this because it looked like my dog wouldn't bite through the cord as easily, which has been a benefit of this brand. However the poor quality of the retraction system makes me not want to use it at all.

It is hard to know what to rate this. It is sturdy, retracts and pulls very well, heavy duty and easy to hold. However, I prefer a leash that I can stop and start fast. This locks almost every time I push it. If I barely push it sometimes it will not lock, but then sometimes I don't push hard enough to make it work. I like to have a leash I can lock very easily, but locks when I want it to lock. If that does not bother you, then I believe you will love this leash. It is extra long.

I use this leash mostly for my cat. It gives her plenty of room to roam around while I still know that she is close by. The retracting mechanism works perfectly and it is also very easy to lock at a specific distance. This leash appears to be very strong, but I have not tested it on any larger animals.

Lock button is a little wonky, sometimes sticks which makes it difficult to 'reel' in your pet. Had it since July, now it won't retract all of the way, soo as the dog gets closer, about 4 feet stays loose, just enough to tangle around the legs. Should have a life longer than 6 months.

My dog loves the extra freedom this leash gives him , It has a great comfy handle. I would have given it more stars if it had a loop to hang the doggy poo bags on. I guess I will have to red neck a solution. Edit : bought in January but now need to find another as the lock has stopped working :( further edit wish I had returned it, lock started working sometimes but now it will not retract the wire I totally expected this to last more than 6 months.

Problematic from the start locking mechanism fails to walk each time however the biggest complaint is the shoddy workmanship where the leashes falling apart at the sewing do not recommend this product
