Green Mountain Coffee, Dark Magic, Single-Serve Keurig K-Cup Pods, Dark Roast Coffee, 72 Count

I have purchased quite a few K-Cup blends for the Keuring, well over a dozen. Some were for company and friends but this one was for me and I LIKE it! I have to be honest and say that it not my favorite but it's up there among them. Even when I have one coffee that I like above others I try to vary my K-Cups. Sometimes it makes me appreciate my favorite better, other times I just want something different. Green Mountain Dark Magic is always in my Keurig carousel. This blend is not as complex as Newman's Own Bold or Coffee People's Organic Bold Roast, however it doesn't hit you over the head like Timothy's Extra Bold Rain Forest Espresso. I have not found a K-Cup that is as bold or full-bodied as coffee that I brew in traditional methods (a French press is my favorite) but this one comes close. All-in-all an excellent K-Cup. My hubby and I love our coffee. A cup in the morning, and one more when he gets home from work and we talk about our days. I guess after 38 years of marriage you've learned to appreciate the little things! Getting a Keurig several years ago was one of our best-ever investments and we've certainly taste-tested many a K-cup since then. We do have our personal favorites, Folger's Columbian being high on that list, and just about all of the darker roast Starbucks. We don't understand or have a clue about undertones, overtones, high notes, low notes, or eighth notes - we just know what tastes good to us! I usually keep us well stocked in K-cups (ordered online for the best prices) but a couple weeks ago I somehow overlooked ordering and -- alas! -- we were almost out! I mean, we're talking a coffee EMERGENCY here! Well, what does any hard-working, hard-shopping, coffee-loving woman do who's about to run out and needs it FAST? Why, she turns to her best online friend, who else? Good old AMAZON! Wonderful Amazon -- who thought it not good enough to offer 2-day shipping, but then added on 1-day, and now I sometimes can even get it the SAME DAY I ordered it! Oh Amazon, what will you think of next to make my life so wonderful? :) Anyway, don't remember which delivery this one came in (2 days? 1?) but I DO know it got here just in time before I ALMOST ran out of coffee. Whew! Okay, so what does all this have to do with reviewing Green Mountain's Dark Magic? As I recall, this particular brand could get to us a day sooner than our regular one - so we decided to throw caution to the winds and go for it! Try something new and heretofor unproved! And wow, were we ever pleasantly surprised. Again, still don't know from "tones" or "notes" but to us this was rich, full-bodied, and just absolutely delicious. Some dark roasts tend to be anything but, while others are so strong they're almost bitter. This one? Just right. I give it my personal "Mary Poppins" seal of approval: practically perfect in every way! It has since become our new favorite K-cup and I not only highly recommend it but if you ever stop by our home I'll be more than happy to make you a cup. :)

Green Mountain's Dark Magic Extra Bold is my go-to coffee for use with my Keurig coffee machine. I go through more of this particular flavor then any other type of coffee. In fact I don't think a day goes by that I don't have at least 1 cup of this flavor, if not more. Don't let the words dark and extra bold scare you off - this coffee is rich, smooth and in many ways mellow. Its not overly acidic, it does't taste burnt, its just a good cup of "coffee flavored coffee". It works well with most flavored creamers, sweeteners, but is a pleasant cup in its pure and unadorned form as well.

I like a dark full flavored coffee. This is my go-to for K-cups. But this brand is usually too expensive to purchase in quantity unless you find a deal. I usually then buy a store brand never more than 40¢ a pod.

If you like strong coffee this is the best.
