Hi. This treatment can be used but it is not a paint so will not repel or prevent stains etc. A further coating should be applied over it to protect the treatment and to ensure that should your grandson try to bite the chair (as babies often do) he is not biting into the wood treatment.

How long does this treatment last before needing another coating?

Hi. Unfortunately we cannot put a figure on this as every application is different. Please note that if used externally it should be overcoated with a weatherproof stain, paint or varnish.

Can this be used to seal bark on live edge slab?

Hi, this would not be suitable for sealing bark unfortunately. This is a wood treatment rather than a water repellent coating.

can this be over painted with gloss?

Once this is dry and the wood is solid enough there's no problem in painting over it with gloss paint. I just used an undercoat first but two coats of gloss would probably do just as well if you weren't satisfied with the finish of the first coat.

Easy to apply either with a cloth or brush. Leaves a nice colour. I use it on a garden bench seat and table. Some peeling occurs.
