Effective, but friable and dusty.
The bricks are effective, but very friable, so the inner and outer boxes came with lots of dust and particles that had worn off the brick surfaces during shipping.

Great heat protector, also keeps noise down
Purchased this to line the inside of my generator shed. I was worried about the heat generated when it runs but this provides fire protection to prevent any damage. An added bonus is the fact that it also knocks out a large amount of the noise when the generator is running.
