Amazing book must read
It is a great book for beginners and experienced people alike. I learned some new things from this book and I have been making remedies for a few years now. I love the authors way of explaining things and going into detail. I recommend to anyone who wants to make herbal remedies and grow their own herbs.

Short but Comprehensive
This was a perfect little guide that provided plenty of information about the benefits of some of the most medicinal herbs we have. Preparation prior to gardening was covered, the care of the garden plus harvest and long term preservation of herbs. There were even recommendations of how to use the herbs medicinally beyond standard water medicine (aka teas). I found that the guide was great for a beginner gardener like myself, but not overwhelming. I have always loved herbal remedies but this gave me the confidence to start my own herbal medicine garden. Happy reading!

So you want to grow your own herb garden?!
A thorough and well researched book...Grow Your Own Herbal Medicine by Carlie Jeffery is an excellent book for a beginner herb Gardener who wants to start their own medicinal herb garden (or any kind of herb garden for that matter).Grow your own Herbal Medicine is well outlined and easy to follow and understand.I would recommend this book not just to a beginner herb gardener but also to families who want to teach their children how to connect to the planet and live a more natural way of life and for teens who have an interest in herbs and gardening as well.In the book you will find advice and tips on picking a spot for your garden, ideas for themes, amending soil, building compost bins, and information on harvesting, storing, and using herbs. This book also includes a few recipes and instructions on how to make teas, essential oils, tinctures, salves, and a few other remedies. The only issue that I have with the book is that the author calls Calendula's flower a Marigold flower. While Calendula (Calendula officinalis) is often referred to as 'Pot Marigold'... Calendula in and of herself is not a Marigold (Tagetes). They both belong to the same family of plants but they are not the same plant and they both have different properties and are used for different purposes.Anyone who wants to learn how to grow herbs no matter their reason will benefit from having this book.

Love this book.
I have come to love all the books I've read from Divine Green Life. This is no different I flew through reading this book. There is a lot of great information about growing your own herbal medicine. My favorite was about preserving the herbs for year round benefits. There are many books about herbal medicine and how to create your own garden, and I think this is one of the best ones.

For beginners
The beginning is very wordy and lengthy about if you have space for an herb garden. It kind of went on and on and I lost interest and had to force myself to sit down and continue the book. I skipped a bunch to get to how to prune and care for the herbs. Other than the long intro, it’s a great book!

Absolutely the Best Book for Herbs
As someone who loves to grow my own herbs, I have been looking for a book that encompasses all of the aspects of growing specific herbs in one place. I wanted to be able to look up a specific verb, and find all of the info I needed - this book checks off all of those boxes! Where each herb grows best, germination rates, which herbs help which ailments, how to prepare the herbs appropriately to use medicinally, how to store the herbs, and then now to get the most out of their flavors as well! Trouble shooting steps are also included (and desperately needed by me). What I love about this book is how simple the concept is, and how it is organized in such a way that it makes finding the info you need quick and easy. And I have discovered new herbs to grow and use that I have never considered!I recently moved from zone 6 to zone 9 - this book has made adjusting to growing my favorite herbs and adding new herbs so much fun! And if you don’t want to grow your own herbs, but want to use them? This book guides you through the best herbs for you, too!Highly recommend this book!

We were pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to read and follow along. There is so much information to know about this topic. This book sums it all up beautifully. Very thorough, leaving nothing out on the topic. From soil to end product, every step of the way. Loved it! One I will definitely spend the money on printer ink to print out!

Grow your own healing medicine
I have long been a grower of herbs. I use them mainly use them for cooking but in recent years have learned about the healing qualities of so many more. This book lays out all the information you need to start your healing journey. It is an easy to understand text organized in a sequential way. A great read for beginners to experts. I can’t wait for a sequel.

Fun While Learning
This is a page turner. Informative and will not disappoint. In a time where so many rely on different meds. Not to discredit the need of prescriptions, everything has its place a space. The author has taken a great approach in the lay out of this book. Weather you are a novice or a seasonal herb and or garden grower. You want this book. This book is hitting the shelves at a time when many people are wanting an alternative to healing. The majority of plants of our ancestors used are still available to us.Bravo! I recommend this book. Lets grow together.
