Hisense 50E77KQTUK: A Fantastic Budget-Friendly QLED TV
I recently purchased the Hisense 50E77KQTUK, and I am blown away by the value it offers for the price. The 50-inch QLED display delivers vibrant colors and sharp details, making movies and shows a joy to watch. While it may not be the brightest TV on the market, the picture quality is excellent for everyday viewing. One of the standout features of this TV is its impressive sound quality. The built-in speakers are surprisingly powerful and provide clear audio without the need for an external soundbar. The smart TV interface is intuitive and easy to navigate, with quick access to popular streaming apps like Netflix, Disney+, and YouTube. The TV also comes with Freeview Play, giving you access to catch-up services and live TV channels.Gamers will appreciate the TV's Game Mode, which reduces input lag and enhances the gaming experience. The 60Hz refresh rate and VRR support also ensure smooth gameplay. While the TV's design is fairly basic, it's sleek and unobtrusive. The thin bezels help maximize the screen real estate, and the TV sits nicely on a stand or can be wall-mounted.Overall, the Hisense 50E77KQTUK is an excellent choice for anyone seeking a budget-friendly QLED TV with impressive picture and sound quality. It's perfect for everyday viewing, gaming, and streaming, and it offers incredible value for the price.

Good TV once you adjust it
I use my TV as a TV and also for occasional gaming (PC) so I was tempted by the gaming capabilities of this set. It was replacing a high quality Samsung panel so I was a little concerned about the quality of the picture on this TV. My first impressions weren't good. The screen looked washed out and dull. After a lot of tweaking I managed to get a picture that I was satisfied with. I recommend the Dynamic picture setting, which boosts colours and brightness considerably. I manually tuned some other setting and, I think, I finished up with a pretty good picture. I've rated picture quality as 3 stars because out of the box it is. But once you play around with settings it's worth a 4.One thing that you don't need to tweak is sound. It's fantastic. Easily the best sound quality of any TV I've owned (without using a sound bar). I recommend Theatre setting to get the best possible sound out of it. I'm surprised more reviewers don't highlight this since it's weird to get such good sound out of a budget TV.The gaming features are great too. If the picture quality is so-so as a TV it's superb as a PC display. Pin sharp in Windows and wonderful for playing games. I had to mess about to get it to work at full speed (144 Hz) so don't expect it to automatically run at this speed out of the box (it will default to 60Hz). I recommend you use it as a 2K (1440p) display on a PC for the best visual appearance (4K makes the text too small).Viewing angles aren't great. It's OK if you're a bit off-centre but any more than that and the screen rapidly washes out.The build quality is fine. It's a bit plastic-y and the TV is relatively "thick" but that's mostly because it has a built-in subwoofer. I'd rather have great sound than a thin TV. The remote is surprisingly good with nice clicky buttons. The TV has Alexa and Google built-in. That latter capability appears to be a secret but it works fine if you use Google Assistant.I've given the TV 5 stars because, overall, it's fantastic value for money for what you get. Decent picture quality, fantastic sound, great gaming and lots of smart features. But be prepared to do some tweaking.

Mixed first impressions
The media could not be loaded. I have to say the first thing that separates this TV from others is the sound, I've changed from a Sony bravia 4k to this TV and the sound was good on the Sony but the built in speaker is awesome! Don't get me wrong you do gain extra depth and weight to the TV and I will still be connecting to my 5.1 surround for true surround experience but honestly ill probably watch most things through the TV speaker most of the time because it sounds great (for a TV speaker) there are several standard settings which you can choose from but I particularly like the fact there's a graphic equaliser to tune the sound to your liking. The other plus is the menu and the amount of apps, these are both well set out and easy to use which really does make this a smart TV!Gaming - this is one of the reasons I bought the TV but I'm not overly impressed with this function, I've used the 2.1 hdmi socket with a 2.1 decent hdmi and ensured it's on game mode, I've also changed all the settings so that my Xbox series x matches the same settings but it actually feels slower than my 60hz Sony which has surprised me! Games like COD and Apex seem to have a slight delay taking me from top 3 to mid table in most games which is disappointing considering this is supposed to be designed for gaming. It states 144hz but generally sits at 120hz and 4k. The games do look good though.Picture quality - overall this is good and stands out when watching blu ray quality but suffers a little when watching Freeview where the smoothing makes faces look a little odd. This isn't a deal breaker and any modern programme filmed recently will display normally but if you watch any old footage prepare for it to look a bit weird. On good recent films through blu ray or streaming though the picture is very clear and precise. Playing around with the settings you can also get decent blacks although to get true blacks you do loose some detail. The colour is not as precise as my Sony which I kind of expected and the depth of colour is not as rich although I am still playing with the plethera of colour settings so this may improve.I also didn't realise that the bolt pattern on the rear of the TV is different from my Sony which is a standard fitment so if you're fixing to a wall bracket bear this in mind (I should have checked)Overall a great TV and I think you'd struggle to get any better for the money (hence why I didn't buy another Sony). It is a great TV and I'm sure with a few more tweaks I will be satisfied.
