For those that have need to read a CD or DVD, your search is over.
Disk drive arrived with a short non attached USB A to C cable. Permanently attached is a USB 3A / C cable. This connects to the computing device (PC, Mac, laptop). The transfer / power cable is extremely short. Worked OK for the laptop, but would not work in my PC use. My PC (Minis Forum) is mounted behind my monitor making termination very difficult. I purchased a AINOPE USB C Extension Cable 6.6FT, 20Gbps/240W USB3.2 Type C Extender Cord to resolve this issue. Works like a charm. I have a clear desk, with the DVD drive now sitting on the monitor shelve where I can connect to my PC or my laptop without problem. I had 10 old DVD's of images that were being stored as backup media, but had no way to retrieve the data till now. I was able to transfer the images to another media, thanks to the drive and the cable.Reading a DVD with 2.6 GB of data, I was able to complete the transfer of 35753 files to my laptop with a Crucial BX500 2TB 3D NAND SATA 2.5-Inch Internal SSD in 61 minutes. The additional ports for the USB hub show up in explorer but I have not tested the capabilities of the hub.All in all I am well pleased with the results from the DVD drive, extension cable and the SSD.

Well worth the money.
Worked great right out of the box on my MacBook Air. Haven't tried burning, but importing CDs was fast and easy. The extra ports are a bonus. No regrets.

Functionally Good but Short Cord
Works well, but the cord is way too short. It's inconvenient for use with a desktop PC. But we're not sending it back, as it does the job.

For the Record-ing
This gem works like a charm, but it is very fragile. Works best with the very short attached USB cord, but has a number of ports on reverse side. No brainer to use, but don't get rough with it.

Good value
The drive seems to work OK. I am still not sure how to get it to work like I want it to on my Windows 11 computer.Installation instructions are sketchy.

Easy Installation
I don't know why people are a hard time with this. I clearly says to use the built in plubg to plug it into the LAPTOP not another alternet Plug. I plugged it in and bingo it worked the first time. For the price you can not beat it and it does what it says. Read the instructions.

No directions, hard to use as a CD.
It is very hard to figure out how to use it. The directions are far from helpful. It gives general information. The cord is extremely short which is a pain. There is another cord that comes with it but you can't use it. The device does not open with that cord. It took me awhile to figure out how to transfer files to it. You can't just drag it to it. You have to figure out once on the cd how to get it to burn to the cd. NO DIRECTIONS ON HOW TO USE THIS PRODUCT AS A CD. No idea how it works for a dvd. I'm keeping it because I figured it out but my goodness it will take a while to transfer files to it. BIG PAIN.
