Excellent product well designed and manufactured
I was tired of having to constantly clean my gutters even going so far this year of hiring a company to come and preform the service. I have a 2-story house with the gutters on one side being over 24 ft from the ground. This sent me down the rabbit hole to find a solution. I watched a lot of YouTube and searched Amazon looking at reviews. One of the reviews I read was from an engineering discussion the pro and cons of various systems. I too am an engineer so I evaluate and research most purchases with an eye for design, durability and function. I made the investment of time and cost as I purchased several samples to evaluate on my own.I am in Texas and I have Arizona Ash trees that put out a ton of seedpods in the fall and another tree with small leaves. If I had known what I know now I would have gotten rid of the Arizona Ash trees when they were small, but it is too late for that now. In addition, since I am in Texas I do not have to deal with ice dams so take that into consideration. Regardless, all of this debris ends up in my gutters clogging the downspouts which have to be cleaned by spring when the rains come. After evaluating the samples I got, by putting them on a low section of gutters using the leaves and seedpods with a water hose my conclusion was the Waterlock DIY system from Art of Gutters was the best for my situation. I will emphasize this there are multiple systems out there, plus several companies trying to sell you stuff. You need evaluate your roof pitch, gutters and tree foliage to determine the best solution. A great reference is the YouTube channel called “Gutter Guards Direct” the guy does a great job of explaining each system and conducts real world tests on his own house. One point made in the videos is that no matter how good the design is, if the installation of the gutters and the gutter guards are not correct your experience will be greatly affected. I 100% agree with this. I did contact a few gutter companies and costs were above what I intended, plus I knew I could at least do as good or better as anyone else.On to my experience, with Waterlock DIY.• Overall, the design and construction are excellent. The Aluminum is a good gauge and micro mesh was the right size for me. I have 5-inch gutters.• The DIY version was easy to install and comes with self-driving screws that match the color.• Depending on your gutters you will have to make some modification as needed to get every section to fit. I did as you will discovery most gutters are poorly installed and you will have to work around those issues. I would suggest getting a good pair of straight cut tin snips. Plus, gloves not to thick so you can feel the screws. I use red Milwaukee gloves exclusively and they worked great.• Because of my need to prevent anything from getting in my gutters I made a few modifications. I intentionally increased the overlap between each section to 1/2 inch by cutting this back before install. Then I would use a couple of screws to secure the overlap between sections.• On exterior corners I would cut off the micro mesh from drop pieces and make a cover to fill gaps at the 45 and hold down with screws.• At the start and end of runs I would make an overlap and screw down the straight edge this way nothing can get under the ends. Be aware this will leave exposed screws but no one really notices from the ground plus my goal is to keep stuff out of the gutters.• Finally, and most important, work as safely as possible. I purchased a ladder stabilizer (Werner), No Bull end caps for the stabilizer, I recommend both. I had a helper with me most of the time and I worked slowly and intentionally. Take your time and you will get the job done.Last comment: The gutter guards have been on a few weeks and so far the results are good. We have had a few rains, no noticeable overrun of water and the leave once dry just blow off.

These work amazing
These gutter guards work amazing for a fraction of the price of getting them done. These is gutter guard and gutter guards, these are the only kind to get. The screen keeps out the fine small stuff and the aluminum gives it strength. These sort of self clean when you get a heavy rain. They go up very easily if you have access to a ladder. I would recommend.

Excellent quality and fit/finish
I spent a lot of time looking for good quality and reasonably priced gutter guards. I looked at the big box stores but they only had cheap, flimsy guards/leaf filters. And I certainly didn’t want to spend several thousand on those tv advertised ones. I looked at several on Amazon and decided these Waterlock 5” leaf filters might be just what I had been looking for. So I ordered the sample. As soon as I received it I knew these were it. So I ordered the length I needed (128 ft) and they arrived 3 days later. I spent about 8 hours total over the next 2 days installing ( I’m 66 yrs old, hate ladders and am afraid of heights). But, installation was simple and straight forward. If you are at all handy and currently waste your time on a ladder cleaning your gutters 4-5 times in the fall, you can install these. They came packaged well with no damage. They included plenty of zip screws. All you need is a 1/4 inch drill driver and a pair of tin/metal snips. I am 100% happy I chose these. These are excellent quality. I have no regrets.

Seem like Good Quality Guards; Easy Install; Blends Nicely
The media could not be loaded. Bought 200'. The guards and screws were well manufactured, well packaged, timely delivered and look like high quality gutter guards. I chose these over several other manufacturers' gutter guards because they looked like higher quality and have mutliple colors. I considered the other guard by Waterlock that fits over the front lip of the gutter; this version sits entirely inside the gutter. I suspect the version that fits over the front lip is a better design, but this looked easier to install and less noticeable. Since my previous guards fit inside the gutters and performed well enough, I figured this design should be adequate for my needs.I was replacing and upgrading prior gutter guards following a roof replacement. The prior guards were mostly effective, but small residue (i.e. pine needles, shingle granules, etc.) occassionally entered the gutter so I felt compelled to inspect the gutters annually and perform a light cleaning with a leaf blower. My hope is these will eliminate the need to even do that.Installation was easy after I got the hang of it. As other reviewers noted, there are no predrilled screw holes. However, when I switched from a powered screwdriver to an impact driver, there was no longer any need to predrill. I was able to screw the guards without predrilling. I had a dremel available for cutting, but found metal snips were easier/quicker. I installed about 200' of guards in about 6 hours. Much of the time involved cleaning out the gutters. They look great and seem to function well. I doubt smaller residue can infiltrate these guards. Ill check in the fall. Will try to remember to update this review over the winter as to performance with snow.

Excellent design and quality
I ordered gutter product samples from other companies for comparison. This is by far the best design, easy installation. The mill finish is a light grey which is what I needed. Well worth the price when compared to others. Order this product and you’re done cleaning gutters, these will outlast the house.

Easy to install, sturdy, looks to do the job well
I've installed a couple of different gutter guard products, and the "spring-loaded" installation of this one is definitely the easiest. Also easy enough to cut with tin snips and the combination of mesh and metal seems like a good approach. Very happy with the purchase.
