Our new laptop didnt come with a cdrom nor a dvdrom. However this awesome dvdrom works great. Very compact and I love that it doesnt need an additional power sorce to run. Just take out of the box and plug it in to an open usb port and it is ready to go. Totally plug and play device.

I have Windows 10 and this device only plays some of my DVDs. I also tried to add a CD into my iTunes and it just spun without doing anything. Works great if you like intermittent products. Otherwise stay away.

The DVD drive worked as well as can be expected and I transferred several Microsoft programs from a DVD to a netbook that had no DVD drive. The Manual was useless, however.

The cable needs to be a little longer.

This was a gift for my husband who needed to transfer some music files from the computer to the disc. He said it works and he has not had problems with it. Wish I could leave a more thorough review but as I stated it was a gift for my husband and for him it works.

This DVD drive didn't work with Windows 10 on either of my two laptops. I tried using USB 3 and USB 2 ports, but the drive wouldn't show up in Windows Explorer. When I typed the drive letter in the command path, I received a prompt to load a disk. Windows wouldn't recognize any DVD or CD. Sent it back the same day. The problems may be with the latest version of Windows 10, but the manufacturer should provide the instructions and/or drivers to work with the world's most used operating system.

I received this DVD player in time to play some CDs and movies with my favorite music for a trip I took this summer. Worked with no flaws and makes my laptop to play DVDs well. I like this DVD drive.

Only gave 1 star because 0 stars is not available. A complete rip-off and seller is unaccountable. I've struggled w trying to set this drive up w two different Windows 10 computers, both w Intel chips (64 bit) and brand name systems. I've tried the MS suggested driver set up issues, yet this device is persistently recognized as an external USB drive, not a DVD/CD device. Yet it prompts to have a disk added to drive. Then the process hangs. After multiple reboots and both devices, I can only surmise that the device is flawed. Have purchased many devices, computers, electronics online and this is the biggest dud. Thank goodness the price was not outrageous (although when I purchased in summer 2018 it was higher priced than now - likely due to this compatibility problem... and then there was no warning about compatibility issues Unable to contact seller.
