V3 of my V2s – and only because I enjoy them so much (fit, audio & price…)
These are my third pair of the Genus V2s. Yep: third. And not because the others broke (they didn't) – but because these are so good that every time the rigours of life have claimed a pair (i.e. lost/stolen), I replaced them immediately and with exactly the same model, despite always looking around for other, more recent options. Why?POSITIVES- Sound quality is absolutely excellent, and all the boomph on Rock Jaw's website about audio fidelity and the interchangeable filters absolutely holds up in real life, in my opinion.- There are a ridiculous number of ear buds to play with. So, if like me you find it hard to get earphones to fit comfortably and securely for long periods of time, with the Genus V2s you're quite likely going to find an option which fits your ears perfectly – and I do mean PERFECTLY. (There are so many buds included, in fact, that I always feel a little bad about throwing so much stuff in the bin once I've got the fit right! Ditto the two now-redundant extra pairs of filters… But hey ho.) Back to the fit: the largest-sized ear buds sit in my earholes so snugly, that I can comfortably tun a 10k, at a decent pace, without them falling out once. And that's something I can't say about many other in-ear headphones that I've ever tried.- While not actually noise-cancelling in any high-tech way, the aforementioned perfectly fitting buds do manage to block out enough other noise around, that they have made taking long flights and trains significantly more enjoyable. It also means that I don't have to pound my ears with such high volume (I'm noticeably a few clicks down on the volume from my last non-Alpha Genus pair).- While some people seem to have been less successful here, for me the cable continues to be pretty much un-tangle-able. And given how much traveling I do, this is another boon.- The Rock Jaw team (apparently there's only six of them in the company!) have been quick and pleasant to deal with. There was a manufacturing fault in the cabling of my most recent pair, for example, and after briefly discussing this with them on the phone this morning, my replacements will be winging their way to me tomorrow. Now this should be standard practice for all manufactures and retailers, for sure. But sadly it isn't. So when "customer service" works the way it's supposed to, like this, it's a welcome surprise.- For all this, the price (which, interestingly, was lower here on Amazon when I bought mine than direct through their own website – but it's probably worth checking) is a total no-brainer. Buy a pair already!NEGATIVESThe only negatives I can muster are:- The in-line remote is a single-button style thing, which only allows you to pause, play, and skip forwards and backwards. A long hold of said button also activated Siri on my iPhone, which is helpful. And there's a mic too obvs. However there is no volume rocker – something which I find a little irritating, especially when running or in adverse weather as it means taking my phone out. That being said, when I asked Rock Jaw about the lack of volume control, they told me that it was to do with ensuring compatibility with all brands and models of smart phones. So fair enough, I guess. Though it would still be a nice addition in the future. (He says, hoping.)- The interchangeable filters and earbuds are so joyously easy to remove and switch out (which is a positive) that if you're the type who just chucks your headphones into a large bag, or squeezes them into tight pockets all the time, I imagine there could be a risk of them working loose (which is a negative). It's only happened to me once, out of three pairs, so it might just be a fluke bit of oversight on my part. Again: just to give you a heads up.CONCLUSIONIf you want excellent quality earphones, from a small British-based company, at great value, then these are for you. 'Nuff said.

Superb sound and lasted well so far...
Bought these 6mths ago, after much research and debate.Okay, so not the most expensive earbuds out there but certainly a reasonable outlay for many, when they often last only weeks or a few months.I've had these since May 2016 (now nearly 2017) and they look as good as new. I use them Mon-Fri for about 2hrs a day, on my daily commute. They have a tough main cable - quite chunky for in ear but means tend not to tangle and seem more durable than most. They come in a small (too small) velvet bag, which sufficed for a while but I nicked a bigger one from my daughter, which is better. The cable tends to want to be uncurled, so I use one of those magnetic cable tidies to keep it under control! They only have a pause/skip in-line control, which is my only disappointment as volume control would be good. I use an iPhone 6.SOUNDNow the other important bit...they sound fantastic! I've kept the bass 'tuning filters' in, that were fitted when they arrived, so can't comment on the others but they are excellent in my opinion.I listen to a wide range of music from indie (Knuckle Puck, Mooseblood and oldies like Depeche Mode) to classical and 'World Music' - all sorts of weird stuff! These headphones perform well with all styles of music, giving a warm and full sound, as the best way I can describe it. I can keep the volume down as the sound is so good and they insulate pretty well and fit in my ears comfortably with the original buds - albeit there's a choice of three others. They seem well made and haven't shown any sign of wear. All in all, very enjoyable and quality headphones for a very reasonable price and I've had many brands over the last 10yrs.

Unbeatable for the price
Excellent! I originally ordered these as they seemed to be affordable and the reviews of the sound quality were generally excellent. I can confirm that these sound fantastic! The volume is loud and the sound is encompassing. The microphone works great. However I had some problems a few months into owning these, the sound on the left earphone would come and go, and the microphone stopped working entirely. I contacted Amazon to organise a replacement and they suggested I contact Rock Jaw directly, which I did. I was in touch with a representative from Rock Jaw called Joe who was very helpful and asked me to post the earphones to their headquarters for analysis. Eventually they offered me a replacement for free, and communication was excellent throughout.I would easily recommend these to anyone that is looking for a very robust product (build quality is very obviously superior) with excellent sound quality at what I think is truly an unbeatable price. These won't break the bank, they can be used as your primary earphones, and the version with the microphone makes it excellent for using with phones as well.Get these - it's a no brainer!

Amazing quality, not just for the price
I have purchased these earphones twice, unfortunately, the first order was defective, with the tuning filters lacking any of the foam, making them all sound similar. Still, even with those problems, the sound was much better than multiple offering from other companies at $100+. They broke within 4 months. I contacted the company to receive a replacement as per the warranty. I received it free of charge. This time around the performance was exemplary. The replacement was the correct V2 variant and came with all the parts in pristine condition. Each tuning filter had the foam, and did sound different from each other. My least liked was the silver bass filter, I have never been one for drowning out the mids and highs of audio. The black treble filter was my next liked, making the highs very clear, vocals sounded crisp, and string instruments benefited from them heavily. My personal favorite had to be the gold neutral filter. It is a reference filter, designed to give a balanced audio experience. They keep a great balance of sound overall, making every song you listen too very balanced, producing a strong bass, with crisp highs, and clear mids. The audio in these is magnificent, many have agreed that these frequently outshine far more expensive offerings, and I would have to agree. As for the negatives. The biggest offender had to be the cable itself. While being big and bulky is not a bad thing on its own,the amount is cable noise is outstanding, any movement is easily heard and will frequently interrupt listening sessions. On the plus side, they included a shirt clip, which is of surprising quality I must add. The last negative is not a complaint about the fit or function of the earphones at all, but rather the adjustment period. If you're like me, coming from any default apple earphones, then using these earphones will sound disgusting at first. The reason is that those earphones lack any good bass at all, then being exposed to amazing bass will make all the music seemed heavily drowned out and generally unenjoyable. Give it a week, and you'll be singing praises about the audio quality. And considering audiophiles love these earphones, you'll love it as well.

Ottima qualità
Grande prestazione e ottimo servizio cliente. Si sente subito la differenza con le cuffie standard e poi stanno bene nelle orecchie.

Wow! Sound quality is amazing!
Bought these based on a Wired magazine review, and so glad I did! My Beats headphones finally gave out after 7 years of service, thought it would be easy to get a pair for well under $100 that would have good sound quality compared to that older tech. Tried a pair of well reviewed Sony ones from BB, they were horrible! Put the Rock Jaws in exactly as they arrived, and was blown away! Far superior to my old Beats. I saw some reviews about the build on these, they look and feel well made. As the people who did have issues seemed to get them resolved by the company, I went ahead. So far, my impression is that these are hidden gems from a company that isn't that well known yet.
