Penn-Plax Tank Divider, Extra Large

I ordered the supposedly XLARGE divider for my 3ft tank. I have to say I am not impressed in the slightest with this product. As soon as the package arrived it looked quite small in length and I thought that is not going to fit my tank, I was right. Not only have I had to turn the divider side ways but I have also had to lower my tank water which now makes the tank look hideous, I have also had to build a dam of sand at the bottom of the divider to stop my other fish from going under and getting to my females and baby. Also the plastic divider grips were useless due to the change I how I had to use it, the pegs kept coming off the plastic. I do not understand why the makers of these products do not do their research and check the sizes of tanks before selling these item. So if you have a 3ft tank or bigger, save your money and look elsewhere because this divider is not for you, or spend more money and buy two and put them together, not ideal but will work!

I found it difficult to get information about the dimensions of the various sizes available - I had to squint at tiny product photos in an attempt to read the dimensions. When it arrived I discovered it was not wide enough for my tank, but plenty deep enough. So I turned it on its side and lowered the water level in the tank. Not ideal, but it works. The supports are in a horrible turquoise plastic - presumably this is someone's idea of the colour of water. Clear plastic would be better.Overall, the product works but could be improved.

Got this as last time my fish had babies they all died in the fry tank. I didn't know that any other fish was ready to give birth. So got this ready incase. Well 2 days after getting this product there they were 2 babies acting quick I caught them in fry tank and noticed the mother was still giving birth. So had cut to size the Penn plex and divided my tank so she could be on her own as the males were chasing her she gave birth to another 9 fish in which they are now in one half and all adult fish our in the other. It's a great Penn just what I needed as didn't want to rely on the fry tank. Would recommend.

Was not practical for my application as it was used in a tall hexagonal tank to isolate pregnant fish in a cylindrical form due to its assumed flexibility and support... but no it was useless and would not stay. The clips / retainers are weak, with the slider / guide strips coming away from the pane divider. Size was smaller than expected, may be the reason for its failure? Perhaps may work well if kept straight. Was relatively cheap hence the purchase.

Will need cutting to fit but does the job perfectly. We used it to separate an aggressive fish from the others.

Useless, to much hard work and then makes your tank look daft. My opinion dont bother its not worth the money.
