Bamboo Memory Foam Contour Pillow - A Firm Flexible Therapeutic Posturepedic Pillow for Sound Sleep and Reduced Neck and Shoulder Pain - Standard Size (20 x 12 in)

At first I thought this pillow was too hard, too big, and too uncomfortable. I bought it because I get neck pain from a muscle spasm caused by "neck straightening" or something like that. My old pillow was talalay latex, and gloriously comfortable and soft and springy. But, it didn't have support for my neck arch. So I looked up reviews and thought I'd try this pillow, I felt I had nothing to lose because I was so desperate to help my neck pain.Even though it felt hard and uncomfortable while I was awake lying in bed, I actually wake up without neck pain, and so I guess it is doing its job. While I'm asleep I've never had an issue with the pillow (like I don't wake up and think "this is uncomfortable"), so I guess it's like a mattress - if it's too soft and plush, even though it may feel comfortable while you're awake, it will actually give you back pain overnight because of the lack of support. So I've learned plush and soft isn't necessarily the most "comfortable" in the long run.

I read reviews before ordering this bamboo pillow and saw somebody who also had neck issues was extremely happy with their purchase so I thought I would give it a try. Anyways, I have to say I have FINALLY found the PERFECT pillow (for me)! We all have different preferences when it comes to pillows but if you have neck problems and/or if you like a pillow that is soft, yet moldable and supportive this is the one!

I was skeptical at first, as I have had neck problems on and off since college. If you give it time, this pillow truly has helped my neck. AND, I learned that part of my neck problem is my jaw (TMJ). This pillow makes it almost impossible to clench your teeth if you lay on it right. Less TMJ symptoms, better neck situation for me as well.

I've been suffering with a shoulder impingement for 3 months and sleeping was very painful. I tried lots of pillows and finally found relief with this one. There was an odor when I first opened the package, but I let it air out for a few days and washed the cover, and now it is odorless. The pillow is hard when first lying on it, but it softens a bit with body heat and then is perfect, as it stays firm and maintains its shape. It allows me to sleep on my side or back and keep my shoulder comfortable. I highly recommend this pillow for anyone looking for a memory foam pillow perfect for side or back sleepers.

I really wanted to like this pillow because I've been walking up with a sore neck for about 6 months now so I decided to try a conform pillow. After reading several reviews I decided to go with this one. Unfortunately this pillow is way too firm! I'm still waking up with a sore neck now because the pillow is so hard I constantly toss and turn in my sleep due to not being able to get comfortable.There is no way to send this pillow back either because it comes rolled up in a zippered bag. There is no way to get it rolled back up once you take it out. Hate I wasted my money on this.I just wanted to update my review and say that the seller has great customer service, because of that I'm changing my review from one star to 3.

I have a similar pillow I bought from a different Amazon retailer that I have had for a while. I now keep that one in my semi truck and ordered this one to keep at home. However, I gave it to my wife to try for a night to see if she likes it and notices a difference. The next morning, she told me it made a huge difference in not only in her neck and back pain she felt in the mornings, but also the comfort of her sleep.I can imagine that results may vary for each individual, but for myself who has chronic back and neck problems after being in a couple collisions in my teenage years, a memory foam contour pillow has been heaven sent. Since my wife stole this one, I will be ordering another one today, since I notice the quality of my sleep much lower than that I get in my semi truck (which is quite surprising).No smell. No complaints. Anything is a step up from cheap $10 pillows from big box retailers, but this is on a whole different level of its own.

I was thinking of such pillow to buy someday, in future - for my poor always tired neck. But it seems that this day is today: I bought one pillow as a gift for my mom. She's old and her neck and back are always a place of pain. Especially after car accident - we got a bump from a pickup truck and visit PT several times a week. I was told there that such memory foam pillows help people like me and my mom, with tired neck, to sleep better and to wake up without headache.So I started searching and decided to try this pillow. What were the criteria - medium price, soft washable cover and great quality of the foam. What I've got - perfectly soft bamboo cover (it's written that it is absolutely fine with machine wash). Perfect foam, soft and returns to its shape easily. Oh, what else is important - no smell at all.How does it feel sleeping on such unusual pillow? Of course unusual, especially at the first time. But even a couple hours sleeping on that pillow gives another feeling in a back – it’s much more comfortable to find a pleasure position to sleep.So I’m satisfied with the gift I made for my mother – and will make same gift for myself.

I waited a few months to leave this review because I wanted to see how this pillow held up. This pillow is VERY firm, which is exactly what I need, and it hasn't lost any of the firmness so far. I am a side sleeper and the larger side of the pillow fits the contour of my neck perfectly. I have 3 fused discs in my neck and get twitchy without good support in my pillow. One warning however, this pillow is much smaller in width and length than a standard pillow, which has actually turned out okay with me, but I feel like a need to take in a couple of pillowcases to fit it. The cover over the foam pillow is very nice and washes up well. It has worked very well for me!

The first one of these I received had clearly been previously used - it had some pretty ugly yellow stains on the foam and cover. I did not include that in the rating since I'm happy with the product itself.The replacement that I ordered appears to be brand new, and I already love it. It didn't smell much when I opened it, and for me, it's not too hard and not too soft. It's packaged in a bag that's been perfect to take it with me when travelling. This is a replacement for a similar (and more expensive) pillow that I had previously.

This pillow saved me neck. I went from being unable to go 3 to 4 days without sever strain to not having pain in 3 months. It was a hard adjustment. The first week was a week of crappy sleep...but now I can't stand my old pillows..BEST pillow and the price is unbeatable

Gave my neck the proper support it needed as a back & side sleeper! I tried several pillows before this one. For $40 it's a steal compared to others I purchased and returned.

This orthopaedic pillow is just what I was looking for. I've been experiencing neck problems, likely from my desk work, and this pillow has helped greatly after only a week of use. I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a value pillow that sets your head, neck and shoulders up right for a good sleep.

Great product, one of the best memory foam pillows I've had , nice and soft and supports my neck properly, wothout being too hard. Really happy and recommend this product . High quality product with great value!

Nice and firm. Takes getting use to but I prefer it. The firmness helps keep excessive pressure off my shoulder.
