A miserable tale in the life of a pro cyclist
If you've read any professional cyclist's autobiography you won't find much new here, the biggest draw being Steve's first hand accounts of the big name British riders. The narrative comes across miserable with a big chip on its shoulder and overall I can't say it was an enjoyable read.

Great read
Really enjoyed this - I've followed Steve's career since his junior racing days and as a fan already, I wondered whether this book would give me any insight, and it didn't disappoint. Highly recommended.

A lot of this applies to life in general
A look into the life of a complex and interesting man who seems very honest with himself. I recommend this even if you are not a pro cycling fan.

one of the best.
Excellent read giving insight into the type of rider able to perform multiple stage wins. Probably one of the hardest tasks in pro racing. Better than most of the books written by the GC riders for me. Analytical and honest.

Really enjoyable
Thoughtful book with plenty of insight into the career of one of the more under rated racing cyclists of recent years. Steve's close relationships with both Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish with whom he was team mates at Team Sky and Dimension Data respectively are covered and give an alternative view of the two superstars. Steve's speciality was winning races from the breakaway and his observations of assessing and controlling a breakaway and using the correct power output at the right time are fascinating.Key influences on his career such as Keith Boardman, Brian Smith, Steve Peters, Max Sciandri and Dave Brailsford get honourable mentions in the book also. One of the highlights of the book for me which shows Steve's fortitude is his recovery from a bad crash at the Tour of the Basque Country in April 2017 to become double British National Champion on the Isle of Man later that year. Good book, recommended.

Steve is a goodun
Enjoyed the booked. Remember Steve winning his stages in the tour. Mandala victory was amazing. Not surprised team managers don't know how to manage him. He is a bit of a lone wolf. But on his day he is a winner.
