I wished that I could have liked this series more than I did
I wished that I could have liked this series more than I did. Except for one or two episodes, it appeared to be somewhat aimless. I may have enjoyed it more had the actors been able to articulate (much of the dialogue is mumbled and the much-needed subtitles (for English dialogue!) weren't available). The usual problem of not using trained stage actors who understand the importance of words. The amateur quality of it all should have appealed but it didn't in this case.

NOT much very strange
Not my cup of tea

beautiful, superficial
The usual in gay series/films: young men, well-built, beautiful, superficial, always the same themes, looking for prince charmings, boring.

First World Problems for a group of friends growing up in Memphis
The synopsis of this short TV serial or ‘season’ is that a tight knit group of ‘twenty something’s’ are figuring out life – whilst being creative types and paying the rent in Memphis. That is about it – they have relationships – get on down in the bedroom (occasionally) and have fall outs and then go to parties etc. The relationships seem to be almost a rotating door but there is genuine chemistry for most of the show time and the acting is mostly very good but with no show stopping performances. Some issues are dealt with – like drug abuse – but in no great depth and are more incidental to the plot than the raison d’être. It can be slow in places too as not a lot happens. This takes its time in a confident way though – it has not run out of ideas but is letting the story grow. I enjoyed it all for the most part but watched it in three sittings; that said I would watch a second season.

Second Half better than First
A series of short episodes depicting life in Memphis and some of the modern problems that plaque life. The first 4 episodes I had issues trying to understand just what the story line was and where it was going. The final 4 were much better and if seemed as if the company had got to know each other and were able to play to each other strengths and frailties. Also glad that subtitles were available not sure how well I would have understand what was going own without them.
