Bought this for my volcano mad 5 year old. The reviews were a bit mixed so I was unsure of what to expect. However, it was so much fun.You get a volcano, 2x sachets of the mixture needed to make the eruption, red dye for realism, a base plate to keep the mess contained, a cup, safety goggles, kids mask, digging tools, pouch for any gem stones and a display case for the big amber piece.You spoon some of both the powders into the top of the volcano and mix. Then add red dye to the cup of water and pour it in the top. This causes a foamy eruption (bigger the more of the mixture you add). There’s plenty of all the kit so you can do a fair few eruptions if your child likes doing it.The water softens the material of the volcano and then you can start digging away with the tools. My 5 year old struggled with the digging bit so I did most of the grunt work and let him prise the object out.We were amazed at the amount of things to discover. We had 12 small stones, 4 dinosaur fossils (rubbery plastic) and a surprisingly big moth/butterfly in amber. My son was so excited and has them displayed in his room.Hours of fun (we kept going back to it over the course of a day) and completely worth every penny! I’m tempted to buy another one for the summer holidays.

My daughter (6yrs) loved this kit, great value as you get loads of gems and 4 dinosaurs, plus the erupting volcano so plenty to keep you occupied. One of the tools broke during a pretty vigorous dig but it didn’t affect it. The big bug gem has a hole so you can eventually hang it up which is a great feature

We had a great time doing this. My dinosaur boy loved it. The gems were far too small.

All my children loved this toy. I bought it for my youngest who is 5 but my 8 and 10 year olds joined in as well. Erupting the volcano was the best part and then they love the stone with the butterfly inside! What a treat!

Fun for the grandchildren

My 6 year old loved this and kept him busy for a couple hours. Well worth the price.

My boy loved it so much. I would definitely recommend. It may require some help from an adult with digging

The items inside are great, however this was much harder to excavate compared to similar items. Waaaaaay messier too.
