Vanilla Buttercream Frosting

I got a small taste and its very yummy. I will be ordering again

I had bought the vanilla cake mix from Fitbake because the macros are fairly friendly for dieting and we were celebrating a birthday. It am also gluten free, so I could have some. Usually I just watch everyone else eat cake. Being excited to try this company, I chose to try the cake with the frosting marketed for it, leading me to this purchase (vanilla). This frosting is not better macros for general dieting, it actually has more calories per gram than regular frosting. It also has a sickly strong sugar alcohol taste. Imagine putting vanilla or almond extract directly on your tongue, that is the burn and flavor that is left in your mouth after trying this frosting. It never made it onto the cake. I ended up trying homemade protein frosting and just store bought traditional frosting and the cake was amazing. I highly recommend the cake mix, just not the frosting. So if you are keto, this frosting may or may not be for you. For the general fitness/wellness/dieting/gluten free individual, you are much better off using something… anything else.

I was prepared to rate this as tolerable if it’s the only choice for frosting. The more I thought the more I realized it doesn’t have very good ingredients and could actually be made much better. It has a stable open product life which means it doesn’t go bad when opened. Hmmm. It’s made from palm oil, but responsibly harvested. It could be made from butter since it’s called butter cream. Coconut cream is also a better product nutrient and is stable. The frosting is very sweet. It made my stomach queasy. I see it’s returnable so I will probably return it.

I am a carnivore, so I eat very low carb foods. Fit bake allows me to have chocolate cake on my birthday and still maintain my healthy lifestyle! It’s delicious and not too sweet. I don’t have cravings like I would if I ate sugary and floury cake.

Opened this up right after receiving it to give it a taste. What I found was a 3/4 inch area from the top of the container all the way to the bottom of the container that contained NOTHING but air. So, in other words, I did not get a full jar of this frosting. I then opened the chocolate one to check it as well and found the same thing. This isn't just an air bubble, it goes right from the top all the way down to the bottom. This is not okay at all. You are not getting the full package of what you paid for. Disappointed. AND now that I've tasted it, I have to say that the Vanilla Buttercream is absolutely disgusting -- WAY to sweet to even eat more than a tiny taste. The chocolate frosting is just okay, but also way to sweet. Whoever thought this was a good product was definitely mistaken because this stuff is inedible as far as I'm concerned.

Trying to celebrate a birthday with cake while also following a low carb, zero sugar lifestyle is a challenge to be sure. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this option. I paired the FitBake Chocolate Buttercream Frosting with a Dunkin Hines Keto Yellow Cake Mix. I had already read the reviews so I knew that the frosting was temperature sensitive. I bought two frosting containers because it takes 1 to frost a single layer 9" cake. You absolutely will need 2 if making a 2 layer cake. I used every bit of both containers making this. I made sure to fully cool the cake prior to frosting (30 minutes in the pan then 2 hours on a wire rack), and after I frosted the cake I put it promptly into the refrigerator. Everything was a success. The cake turned out great. The only reason I give 4 stars rather than 5 is there is an ever so slight alcohol taste to the frosting. It really doesn't taste like buttercream, but it does taste like frosting and chocolate. Very happy that this is sugar-free and fits into our lifestyle. Overall happy with this product. Would buy again keeping in mind the temperature sensitivity as I bought this in February, not say July.

This does not taste good. I was trying to make a sugar free birthday cake and this "frosting" tasted like chemicals. Unfortunately this expensive frosting is something I am definitely not going to purchase again.

This frosting has little in common with cream cheese but has a pleasant vanilla taste. I used it for a birthday cake and it was a huge hit. Since this frosting is largely coconut oil based, the colder it is the more solid it will be. I tried to put it on a still warm cake I baked and it mostly melted. It stayed put and looked better after the cake and frosting were refrigerated for a while. As long as the cake isn't warm, this frosting seems to stay put for quite a while. The keto cake I made with King Arthur's keto cake mix was a hit. My only complaint is that you don't get a lot of frosting in each container. It came with enough frosting for a small cake, with maybe left for half a cake if I'm lucky. One day I'll figure out what to do with the rest. For keto cake frosting, this is a great (if costly) product and absolutely worth a try.
