The lower cost version of the WiFi connected Pulse Ion Chamber radon detectors found here on Amazon
I purchased another brand of this type of radon detector for my first one. Then I realized this lower cost one is the exact same device - just silver instead of black. They even use the exact same app on your phone. I have had several battery operated display radon detectors for a few years which are apparently accurate - if not, they are at least consistent - as they provide nearly the exact same reading when placed side-by-side for several days. This unit from Life Basis provides readings very close to those battery operated units - so I am going to assume it is fairly accurate. The big difference is the speed of getting valid readings. The Life Basis unit provides valid readings in less than one hour - the battery unit takes at least half a day.My use case for these devices is to be able to remotely monitor radon levels in multiple areas of our house. So, we have two Life Basis units and the initial more expensive unit from the "other" brand you can find here on Amazon - all connected to WiFi and the same Smart Life app on the iPhone. They support 2.4 GHz WiFi networks only. The alarm value is configurable and can activate either or both a light and sound alarm on the unit. Both can also be disabled. You can purchase an SMS text notification service via the app if you want actively notified by your phone. I do not use this service as I can easily check the app when I want to see the level. After having these units installed for several months, the data graphs clearly show how variable the radon level is over just a few hours. It is highly dependent on the barometric pressure and the air infiltration rate of the structure. On a calm, gloomy, rainy day the level can increase very rapidly. The maximum peak is determined by geology and soil composition. For me, this unit has significantly improved my monitoring capability and has informed my approach to mitigating our exposure to radon.

24/7 Radon Readings on your phone
I bought this detector to provide radon measurements 24/7. Once the app is down loaded on your phone or computer, you have access to radon amounts constantly. I’m very happy with this radon detector.

Easy set up
Works well so far. It reports every hour. The only issue is comparing to something calibrated. I figured I'd track the data for a month then have my radon measured with a test kit and see how the two compare. My Radon is less 2 piC/L and I've only sealed about 85% of gaps and cracks so I'm not overly worried at the present time.

Handy device that uses a different sensor than the portable battery operated detectors
Life Basis has two different models of radon detector: one called "Portable" that runs on 3 AAA batteries and this one which is plugged in. I had previously owned a different brand of radon detector (one of the first/best selling models available) that also ran on three AAA batteries and also appears to use the sensor. Those batteries would last a couple years and the sensor being used is "Alpha spectrometry." After bit over two years that portable sensor with a "ten year lifespan" died. Turns out they can't handle a humid environment (which basements tend to be). This plugged in wifi model uses a "Pulsed ion chamber" sensor which hopefully is will be able to survive longer, especially with it greater power draw maybe keeping the humidity inside the detector lower. An advantage of this sensor over the battery operated ones is that is more accurate sooner. "< 10% at 10pCi/l (370Bq/㎥) after 10 hours," rather than waiting for 7 days to get to 10% accurately range like the portable devices.I do not have a calibrated radon detector to compare this this model's readings, however it is in line with what we have been getting after our radon mitigation system was put in -- and the reading appropriately drops down a low 0.2 pCi/l when the sensor is not in the basement but near an open window on the first floor.Cons: It has no screen to show the actually value, though apparently the status light on the top will change color if radon levels get excessive. So you have to use the app to get a reading. A small screen on the side so you could glance at it as you walk by would be nice.Side note, at first I was afraid mitigation for our house would be a large PITA ongoing expense with air exchangers etc but it turned out for us to be surprising simple after a highly regarded radon contractor installed it. Our basement has a cement floor so essentially you drill a 4 inch hole in the floor in a corner of the basement. Dig out a kitchen trash can sized void under the concrete and seal a PVC pipe from the hole to an outside venting fan that's always on, giving you vacuum of just ~3 inches of water to that space. That is enough of a slight pressure gradient for any radon seeping up to not pass into the basement. It also has the advantage of seemingly lowering the humidity a bit in the basement.

Inadequate graphing
The Life Basis Radon Detector seems to be a quality product. It has a light on top to indicate whether or not radon levels exceed what you’ve set. If levels rise above your settings, you can receive a notification on your phone, however it doesn’t include the reading. You can also opt for a paid subscription to receive a text message and/or a phone call. The main page of the app has the current radon reading. Unfortunately the “real time” graph for that day only plots hourly reads. If there is a spike during that hour, you won’t see it. Likewise, if you receive a notification and don’t look at the app right away, there’s no way to tell what the reading was when the alarm went off. The daily, monthly and yearly graphs are all averages. For my purposes, it is *adequate*. I wouldn’t go out of my way to recommend this unit without a revamp of the app.

Not a delivery problem
The design of the packaging is at fault here. The unit sits on top of the charger in the box and by design thet are meant to interface with each other: if the charger is not placed correctly or shifts at all, it will collide with the unit. Y'all should see me about packaging, I do this for a living...Cracked bottom is a direct result if contacting charger in shipping.

Easy to use for long and short term monitoring
I purchased this digital radon monitor end of this winter(reading the news about people dying from radon in the winter), and I am extremely satisfied with its performance. Firstly, I am impressed by its precise monitoring capability. It can accurately monitor the indoor radon levels, allowing me to stay informed about the safety of our living environment, and providing a powerful safeguard for the health of my family and me.Secondly, I appreciate the long-term and short-term average monitoring results it provides. This design is very thoughtful, allowing me to more intuitively understand the changing trends of radon indoors. Through a week of experience, I found that the monitoring results in different rooms vary slightly, which is likely due to the influence of different floors.Furthermore, I am pleased that this product comes with built-in batteries, so I don't have to worry about purchasing additional power sources, making it very convenient to use.

Delivers Peace of Mind!
Radon is a radioactive gas found naturally in the environment. It has no colour, no odour and no taste. Originating from the natural decay of uranium in rocks and soil, it can silently infiltrate homes. Given its prevalence in my region and its status as the second leading cause of lung cancer, I opted to acquire a personal detection unit for reassurance.Typically, winter months offer the most accurate time for radon measurement. In the past, we engaged a contractor for this task, but the expense and limited availability during summer were inconvenient. The Life Basis Radon Detector proved to be a more economical alternative, allowing flexible testing, particularly during winter. Featuring a large, user-friendly display for swift radon level assessments, this battery-powered device (utilizing 3 AAA batteries) eliminates the need for recharging. The unit returned values similar to the contractor that we spend hundreds of dollars hiring, which was also reassuring. You do need to find the right spot to test, but with my own unit I can now run unlimited tests.Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase, and it has given me additional peace of mind for my health and the health of my family. Nevertheless, I do advocate for its use alongside periodic professional testing to ensure acceptable levels of Radon in your home.

Convinced me to call a professional to address the issue
Seems to be working fine. The readings change with the weather, which is a good sign. There are basically 3 statistics: 24 hours reading, 7-day average and long term average. It has convinced me to call a profesional to address the issue in my basement as my LT average is 191. Even though Canada's recommendations are that 200 is fine, the rest of the world says it should be below 100. Short term I can at least open the windows when the readings are high (specially after a heavy rain).

Convenient device; extremely high readings compared to Airthings
This radon meter is convenient to use but shows significantly higher readings than my Airthings Wave.Set up is quick and easy – install batteries, locate the meter, then wait and collect readings. The meter shows a long term average and can display a daily or weekly average.Unfortunately, I don’t believe the readings of this device to be accurate. I’m running this alongside an Airthings Wave. The Airthings reports fairly consistent readings with day-to-day variation in the 80bq/m3 to 120bq/m3 readings and a long-term average around 90bq/m3. By contrast, this LifeBasis meter shows short term readings of 200bq/m3 to 450bq/m3 with a long-term average of 386bq/m3. Due to the high relative fluctuations, I believe this device to be inaccurate. In my case, both Airthings and this device are telling me I need to do some remediation (these readings were taken in mid-heating-season, and likely the worst radon season). For those with lower radon levels, this device may point you to remediation even if it isn’t necessary for you.Buttons (to cycle through modes and reset) are on the back of the meter and flush-mounted, making them a little inconvenient to press – not a big deal though, as there if very limited need to press buttons.

Excellent product
I am in Canada. Read reviews saying this was a good way to test for radon gas in your home and a worthwhile alternative to cheaper monitors that require you to send readings in via snail mail (to the U.S.) and wait for results. Those reviews are 100% true. Fast, accurate results to make sure you and your family are breathing safe air. Worth every penny.
