Susan Parker explains with lay-person simplicity - and yet great detail - the chemical structures of carrier oils, their properties and how they work when applied to the body and why they are good for you. In doing so, she also explains a bit about how essential oils work - in fact, I highly recommend reading this book before the much lauded Advanced Aromatherapy by Kurt Schnaubelt, which I found assumed the reader had a lot of scientific knowledge already. As Parker explained oil components in this book, so the charts and jargon in Schnaubelt’s book started to make sense. Reading this book was a revelation. I now have a much better understanding of how I can use carrier oils for home-made beauty treatments. It got me really excited about designing formulas for my hair and skin and I have already created and started using a light-weight neroli face serum using four oils perfect for the task. I agree with another reviewer that a table of oils and their comedogenic ratings would enhance a future edition of this book but there is no way I am dropping a star for that because this book overall is so fantastic. It offers something that no other book seems to: clarity, layman’s terms, inspiration. I may sound over-effusive but the book is THAT good and I regularly refer back to it. Thank you Susan Parker! Power of the seed- Great book
I love this book. I like the way Susan M.Parker has written it. It is full of information and that I don't have to go online to check all the time for different oils. I have not finished reading the book fully but anyone who is thinking about this book should buy it. Whenever I am researching to make my products and want to experiment with new oils I check in this book. It is so easy to read and I like the fonts too.

Brilliant Book
First time I ever write a review, but just felt like I had to say how much I enjoyed this book and how useful it has been for me. I absolutely love the format and chapter structure, I think it's invaluable for anyone interested in discovering more about carrier oils and butters and I find it really easy to refer back to during formulating etc. Absolutely great work!

Love the book absolutely
Love the book absolutely !! however I do wish the book gave out more information on the qualities of oils .. like more indepth !! it still makes for a very good read and has oil profiles of even less heard of oils !!

Best book ever! Fun, knowledge, science, passion.
This book is my go to for every base oil formulation in my aromatherapy business. Susan M Parker was able to deliver in her book detailed scientific oil profiles in easy English. it is also ideal for beginners with easy follow recipes.

Love this book. It has been my bible when it comes to search for some seed oil or information or even for a recipe idea. The graphics are stunning, the writing is vivid and absolutely enjoyable. Amazing!

Redactado de manera simple pero entrando en la parte química, de los ácidos grasos, los principios activos... Explica una buena cantidad aceites, mantecas y ceras. Casi al final del libro hay una parte con los perfiles de los ácidos grasos de los aceites indices de saponificacion etc... La verdad muy completo. La edición es tapa blanda, pero está muy cuidada. El único, pero que tengo es que las recetas son muy básicas, si ya tienes conocimientos.

Contiene muchísima información muy valiosa sobre los aceites vegetales, sus propiedades y composiciòn, altamente recomendable para quienes hacemos uso de ellos en diferentes ámbitos.
