low cost but you get low quality
its cheep, and works , but has a huge amount of play in the handle which can bring the drill down off centre. you get what you pay for !

Don' forget to lubricate all sliding and pivoting parts.
The drill stands arrived on time and well packaged. If the stand is assembled with care and all moving part are lubricated the drill stand will function well. However, I agree with a previous reviewer. In order to cut down the side to side play of the handle. THIN washers should be inserted at the 2 pivot points of the handle. Please note, in order that the washer fits over the boss the hole in the washers needs to be 14mm. Good luck.

Junk
I know what the price point is and I only got it to help make sure that the holes I was drilling were going to be reasonably straight, but a drunk man could do a better job than this piece of rubbish, spend a bit more and buy something that is a bit better.

If you spend a little time you can make it better.
So I expected a device with poor tollorances, and that's why it's got four stars because with the drill press itself that's what I got, but I also knew in advance of purchasing it could be improved. :-)1. Check the height between the silver parts and the top of the gray parts they sit over. Mine had between 0.8mm and 1.2mm. File the gray parts down so they are nearly flush with the silver, leave just the thickness of a piece of paper, then attach the silver parts and tighten. If the excess material is removed even, then this will take out a lot of play when raising and lowering the drill.2. The round silver bar has a lot of play in it, always make sure you tighten it's allen key bolt on the left, ideally to the depth you're drilling, but if you're not drilling to a depth, lift this bar all the way up and tighten it. Doing this also removes a lot of play. The vice isn't too bad, the quick release is nice, you will need some spacers between if you want to secure the vice to the base of the drill press, as it is thinish alloy, but it's not really too bad and you don't need to remove the bolts completely as there are holes at the end of the drill base that allow you to feed and bring the buts from those bolts up through. Bonus.

Instruction Leaflet
I would rate this as the worst instruction leaflet I have ever come across. The photographs are blurred and indistinct and there are no written instructions. The clearer picture on the box does not tie in exactly with the detail on the apparatus itself. One of the bolts is so badly formed that it will not tighten. Not only are the set up instructions poor but there are no instructions as to use

A budget stand that does the job
When I put it together, there was a tiny bit of sideways play in the lever arm. A couple of thin washers sorted that.

Quality
Product OK You get what you pay for!It works as a pedestal drill .Has to be well bolted down on 4 sides but still movement when drilling and tight on shaft when depressing drill .All in all I would look for a sturdier frame and not arm depress .Would I recommend it ????
