Good quality, great price for those just needing a flip phone for basic calling/text functionality.
This phone is ideal for those who just want minimal capabilities of calling in/out and texting. Phone keeps up with the latest network speeds. Buttons are tactile and smooth. It comes unlocked so I am able to use a pay as you go plan. There is a guaranteed quality with refurbished products and so I am pleased with the product especially for the price. I do not use the other applications (email, etc) as those are better suited to be used on tablets/smart phones anyways. Prefer the durability and compact size of a flip phone style.

Perfect for your digital detox :)
Hubby and I were looking for a dumbphone for our digital detox without spending too much money. After some research, we decided on this oneโthe TCL Flip 2. Itโs not the Alcatel My Flip 2 (or something like that). They are similar but not the same. I dare say this one is better because it runs on Android, whereas the other, as far as I know, uses the KaIOS system. Since itโs an Android phone, I had doubts about whether it was truly a dumbphone. To my surprise, it actually is. This phone doesnโt have the Play Store, so you canโt simply download apps and end up failing your digital detox. Itโs a very limited device, but it still provides enough technology to function in daily life. I believe itโs made of plastic, which is great because I donโt have to worry about breaking glass or damaging aluminum. Iโd say the material is decent and serves its purpose well. Itโs lightweight, even though it has two parts (itโs a flip phone, after all). It supports 4G, WiFi, and Bluetooth, allows group text messaging, and even displays emojis (which many dumbphones donโt). The call quality is just as good as my iPhone 13 Pro, text messages work as they should, and it functions with Mint Mobile (so I assume it also works with T-Mobile, since Mint uses their network). You can even insert an SD card and listen to music. It has a headphone jack, but you can also use wireless earbuds thanks to its Bluetooth capability. The battery is amazingโit lasts about 3 to 4 days, depending on usage. It has a browser, but itโs inconvenient to useโwhich I love because I donโt want to waste time mindlessly scrolling on a screen. Hubby and I love this phone. I just wish it had maps and at least WhatsApp. Because of this, I carry my smartphone when I need navigation and check WhatsApp on my laptop. I know you can customize it using apps from Apps4Flip.com, but I still donโt know how to do that. I think itโs a great device for the price, and if youโre more tech-savvy than I am, you can probably get even more out of it. The seller, EKings (I think thatโs the name, but if not, itโs something similar), was really good. The seller you choose on the Amazon Renewal Store makes a difference, and I recommend this one. They shipped it quickly, and the packaging was excellentโevery piece was carefully stored separately in the box, which I really appreciated. I believe it wasnโt eligible for free returns, but since I donโt intend to return it, I canโt comment on that aspect. Iโm completely satisfied and highly recommend it! Check out the photos and video for reference, and give a like if you enjoyed my review.

Does What It's Supposed To
I updated my iPhone to iOS 18 and experienced severe headaches. So much so, the device became unusable and have been unable to use a smart phone since. I purchased this phone as a last resort, and it worked out for me (praise God). I was able to insert my sim into this phone, and it worked in a matter of seconds. Coming from a smart phone, this phone is extremely basic, but it does what it's supposed to do. I am able to make calls, text, add my music, and I use the calendar and stopwatch feature time to time. The picture quality is poor, and I was unable to link my email successfully to the phone. I rarely text ever now (due to it taking so long to key) but I am able to if needed. However, the sound quality is fair, the calls are crisp, and I can play my music. So, it has its pros and cons. But for the price and for what I can do it's a good phone. I would recommend. Oh yea, the battery life is good too. I can go probably two days w/o a charge. But take in account, I'm rarely on my phone like that anymore. But overall, if you're looking for a work phone, back up phone or just have unfortunate situation, I recommend.

Great back up second phone
Exactly what I needed. I have an up to date iPhone. This is a second phone. I work from home. I just needed a dedicated phone to forward my business calls, when Iโm out of the office. This works perfectly on T-Mobile prepaid service. Compact. In like new condition. Worth every penny. I barely use it. But good to have with me when I need it. I pre-pay T-Mobile $30.00 every three or four months.

Dissappointment in one thing I need it to do
If calls are important to you and you are looking for an inexpensive simple flip phone that works great and doesnt drop calls DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE they are hit or miss in quality and do not function at 100% capacity

Battery life is excellent.
Itโs been such a good phone, only complaint is speaker isnโt that loud. Aside from that, all good. Battery is ridiculous, wonโt have to charge for days at a time.

Its a cell phone
A very standard, old fashioned flip phone. I bought it to keep in my car as an extra phone for when I don't feel like traveling with my smart phone or for emergencies in the case of an accident. Nothing really stands out as being amazing, likewise nothing stands out as a deal breaker. Its sturdy and easy to use. You can't go wrong for the price if you are getting an emergency phone, a phone for a senior, or a child. But the battery life is pretty bad for a flip phone - at least mine was. The built in apps for music and podcasts are also kind of bad, which is another hit against it. I have seen flip phones with decent music applications, and this is not one of them.

The only thing I dislike is that it's not black, more like a dark grey! Regardless, so far operates normally as I use it exclusively for phone calls and text messages! Works properly on my internet home network as well via its built-in WiFi system therefore can be used easily at any free WiFi location! Also I was able to transfer all my contacts from previous LG flip phone, easy to pair it up with your previous phone! Btw, a flip phone is for everybody, senior or not, as I'm not one of them, a flip phone is for a person solely interested in a device that allows you to make digital phone calls and send/receive text messages and not being addicted to social media at all! Yes, I recommend this phone to anybody interested in a fairly-small flip phone! Update Oct 8, 2025: spent 63 days vacationing in US, TCL Flip Phone worked beautifully and flawlessly in Alaska and then Lower 48 states, it gives you the option to choose from all major US cell networks available in US, in my case I chose AT&T, free incoming text messages but for the rest of your daily habits like outgoing text messages, phone calls or data, roaming rates are pretty high! I recommend disabling roaming data access and no phone calls and outgoing text messages unless you have a plan that protects you against such high US roaming rates! GREAT PHONE!

Phone itself has no problems, but it came with smudges and lint on the screen and the screen protector plastic was taken off and crumpled along with all the other wrappers and protective seals. The phone itself also felt warm like it had been used very recently before I even turned it on for the first time.

Working features: 1. Rogers SIM works fine. 2. Bluetooth works well - Bluetooth headphones or earphones. 3. Works as a mobile hotspot - other wifi devices can connect. 4. The music player sounds quite good, and the MP3s work well. 5. Asian characters (such as Korean) are displayed correctly. 6. Can connect to a PC and transfer files just like an external storage (both main memory and microSD card) Trouble: 1. I could not connect to popular email servers (Yahoo, Gmail, and Outlook). All in all, I like it. It is much easier to answer calls (you can open it). It's lighter to carry in your pocket, too. By the way, I'm not a senior. This phone makes sense to all.

* Not senior friendly, flawed phone software. * When manually dialing, a "speed dialing" dialog pops up, asking if you'd like to assign a phone # to the digit pressed. You cannot continue dialing until the question is answered, but a lot of tech-challenged seniors won't know how to answer this question. And, if you go ahead and assign all digits to speed dial, when manually dialing a phone #, the phone #s assigned to speed dial often get accidentally triggered by the tech-challenged senior. So either way, the tech-challenged senior will have difficulty manually dialing phone #s... such as 911... And if so, that could be potentially life threatening! The software for this TCL flip-phone is very poorly thought-out! If I could give this product 0 out of 5 stars, I would... * Please don't buy this TCL flip-phone for a tech-challenged senior, or they might be unable to call for help! *
