Aluminum Hydroxide (Ultrafine Powder), CAS: 21645-51-2 (500g/1.1pound)

This aluminum hydroxide powder has roughly the consistency of fine sand. It comes in a plastic tub, and there was no seal beneath the tub's screw-on lid. As a result, during shipping some of the powder worked its way into the threads and out into the shipping box. More came out and onto my table as I unscrewed the lid for the first time. Cleanup wasn't especially difficult and this isn't a compound that is dangerous to spill, but the lack of a seal seems like an oversight on the manufacturer's part.Interestingly, this aluminum hydroxide powder seems to be highly soluble in epoxy resin. I had hoped to use it as a white colorant, but even in large quantities it only causes a translucent slightly off-white color. It did cause the resin to become brittle when added in that quantity, though. (I include this for informational purposes only; the seller made no references to their product being useful to mix into resin so I am not figuring it into my rating.)
