Not fit for purpose
It is a lovely looking thing, unfortunately it is not fit for purpose, you can’t actually complete a game of pool (or snooker) on it. Although it looks good, upon closer inspection it is really quite shoddy and poorly put together. There are a number of issues:- 1. The table is designed to be a classic pool table, where the balls run down channels at the side to the end of the table, where they can be picked up again (just like a pool table you’d see in a pub). Unfortunately these do not work, and the balls just get stuck – the channels aren’t slanted and the inside is rough - which means you cannot finish a game you have to pick the table up by one end to get the balls out, which of course means that the game has to be abandoned. 2. Sometimes the balls get stuck between the bottom lip of the pocket and the edge of the channel that they are meant to run down. 3. It has been put together carelessly and in some pockets the metal staples that they’ve used are sticking out. 4. The pockets are very badly cut, which means that unless you are pretty much straight in front of the hole, the balls will just bounce back and not go down (especially in the centre pockets). The cut of the pockets is sharp not rounded like they would be on a proper table. 5. The cues that came with it are dire. Two of them broke straight away. I don’t know what they’re made of. Cheap and nasty. 6. The scoreboard is a hideous piece of cheap plastic. The seller was contacted who said to return the table in the original packaging, as it was delivered in an articulated lorry, this was not an option. However a friend who is a carpenter has carried out some modifications so the table is now usable, but for the price paid you would not have expected to have had to do this.
