Very cute and looks good on the book shelf
Purchased for my husband to keep him quiet. He thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and the end product was amazing. Would highly recommend.

Nice book nook but...
The media could not be loaded. There is a lot of cutting, folding and rolling of paper with this one but it all goes together well until you have to fit the shaped cut roof pieces they are meant to insert with tabs into the thicker holes and they are too tight and stiff so upon adding greater pressure one of the panels snapped in three places, I had to repair it, then cut down and sand off the tabs to get it to fit more easily.

Easy to follow instructions. Excellent quality
Excellent quality… way better than cheaper versions. Sturdy materials and good clear instructions… I started to build it 6 weeks before Christmas as it was a gift and I wasn’t sure how long it would take me.. I became obsessed and built it over 5 evenings as I couldn’t wait to see the end result!!… took me around 25 hours I would say but I loved every minute and my daughter cried when I gave it to her on Christmas day!!

Beautiful
Can't wait to get started. The kit has everything except glue. But sure that's no big deal. The video is also very helpful

Looks great, but not well designed
The finished product is amazing, but the process to get there was full of difficulty. Some of the parts were very tricky to fasten together, especially the final pieces. The roof was awful to fit and the last side to be placed was almost impossible to clip together. I ended up cutting the wooden posts to slot the part in. This was very frustrating. The instruction booklet was very sketchy, and in many occasions I found myself looking at the picture of the finished product at the end of the book, to make sense of it.I did not enjoy making this book nook as much as other ones I have bought, although it looks very good. Be prepared to use your ingenuity to solve basic problems in design. The roof is very tentatively placed on the top of the roof struts, so one false move and it will fall! You will need a lot of glue!

Lights broken, piece missing
This was a gift which I bought early so I cannot return it. As well as a missing piece, the circuit board for the lights arrived broken so the lights do not work. Very disappointed.

Badly fitting broken pieces
I have made a few models and had a lot worse. This started out well and seemed better than my last one but sadly the no matter how delicately I handled the roof it just disintegrated. I am unable to contact the seller and it would have been nice to get replacement pieces.

Good quality
I gave this as a gift , to someone who has done several book books. It took a few hours to complete. She says using a different hobby glue- not included- made things work better. She loved the end result

Poorly planned and too much glueing
Most wooden models/puzzles we’ve put together are cleverly designed so that glue is rarely necessary. I often marvel at the careful planning. For this model, it is quite the opposite. The designers rely WAY too heavily on gluing delicate parts together, especially with very little surface area. And, the required glue ISN’T EVEN INCLUDED. The end product is pretty, but the build process is much more frustrating than fun. There’s also a lot of unnecessary work put into folding tiny pages that will never be seen in the final assembly. Why put paper in that envelopes that will never be opened, especially if the papers are meaningless (repeating the same page over and over)? I’d understand if there was some sort of meaning or mystery behind the imagery, but it’s just “filler”. I don’t get it.Many pieces splinter a bit when trying to remove them from the sheet, leaving chips in the paint.Lastly, the instructions are often vague since much of the model is glued instead of slotted together. You’ll often ask yourself “Seriously, I’m supposed to just glue this?”

For lovers of detail with lots of patience
This is a perfect rainy-day activity for somebody who loves tiny details and has lots of patience and good fine-motor skills. It's definitely multiple hours of work - I'd say around 5 to 7 for somebody working alone - and it's not particularly well-suited for being worked on by more than two people at the same time. Overall, I really enjoyed setting up this Detective Agency, and I'm astonished that the finished product came out picture perfect even though I'm new to these kinds of puzzles/crafts. This is a testament to the incredibly well designed pieces; everything lines up perfectly, all the pegs fit into the holes snugly. (Given experience with furniture assembly, where that often is NOT the case, I'm blown away that this level of precision is possible for something this tiny. Huge props to the developers!)The one-star deduction is mostly due to the fact that the instructions could be a lot clearer. Starting with the name of the game "Detective Famous Agency", it is clear that these were not written by native English speakers, and sometimes the intent gets lost in translation. Luckily, the pictures were mostly clear, although they are very small and require good eyesight. I would also have liked more clarity on when it is advised to glue something down and when it is better to rely entirely on the pegs to hold things together. I used glue only where the instructions explicitly said to "paste" something, but realized later on when mounting the pictures on the walls that sometimes (or maybe all the time?!) glueing is implied even though not explicitly mentioned in the instructions. As a result of having glued less than probably ideal, my final assembly is very delicate and probably would not be sturdy enough to make a reliable bookend. Another small imperfection was that sometimes fine detail wasn't perfectly cut through (e.g., the Roman numerals in the clock face) and required extra help with a very sharp knife and a steady hand. There was also debate in my household regarding what some deemed unnecessary detail: Why does one have to cut out and fold some papers only to stick them into a tiny manila envelope that will never be opened again? And IF we're doing all this detail, why is the detail itself repetitive (i.e., which document consists of the same page repeated over and over again)? Couldn't they have printed an actual document or piece of sheet music rather than repeating the same page? Sure, it doesn't matter because nobody will ever look into that envelope, but then why do we put anything into it at all?All in all, though, this is great quality and great fun.

This will be a lot of fun to put together and will be a cool little conversation piece once it’s done!
