Ninja Gaiden Sigma (PS3)

what a game
Like many people I suspect, I was mortified when Ninja Gaiden was not released on the PS2. A mate of mine had it on the X-box and it was fantastic. When I heard that Ninja Gaiden was to be released on the PS3, I was as excited as a child on christmas day.Having read some of the reviews on the game, I was a little apprehensive but I must admit, I absolutely love this game. Just the right level of difficulty i.e. challenging enough for it to be rewarding and insanely cool moves and general imagery. One very strange part of the game is actually Rachel's chest! It has a mind of its own and seems to wobble even though she is standing completely still! Adolescent boys must love this game purely for this reason.Several people wrote that this game is just a remake of the original Ninja Gaiden with a few additions and improvements and they're not wrong. But this is no bad thing if you are not one of the stupidly rich people who can afford to have both an X box and a PS2/3. For those of us who only have the one system (oh woe is me), a remake of this great game on the PS3 is a breath of fresh air. The only gripe I have on this great game is the fact that all the characters besides one or two seem to come from California. It would be nice to have some of the supposedly Japanese characters not being yanks!

a hard but great game
First of all if you're unsure of this game download the demo on the playstation network and play through the first level. If you don't like it don't buy.I had never previously played any of the Ninja gaidens on the xbox so I was new to the game. It is rather hard but it definetly is worth pervevering with it as it is a rewarding experience and definitely isn't a button masher. You will need to learn how to use the block button in order to progress. The variety in weapons and their strengths and weaknesses and their upgradability make this game great. It's pretty much pure action with a few puzzles. The graphics are very clear and sharp and the only slight annoyance is the camera angle however you can adjust it manually which removes the annoyance. One of the other reviewers has listed its best points and I second that.Ninja gaiden sigma is on the best games you can get on the PS3 and the best in its genre.

Very hard, very satisfying.
This game will test your mettle, if you mess up you may as well be dead. You can't afford to fail otherwise you will have your ass handed to you. However, it is worth it purely for the satisfaction of destroying an enemy with the combo you've been trying to learn for ages, worth it IMO.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma: review
Many games that have been released for the PS3 have not been up to "next gen" standards however Ninja Gaiden Sigma is a whole different story. The graphics are great for a game released only 4-5 months after the PS3 came out. The characters are original and well designed, they do have background to them too but is explained in a vague sort of way. The gameplay in Ninja Gaiden Sigma is second to none, with every wall, building and object being interactable. Translation? You can run along, jump off almost everything in the game. Although special combos that you can unlock are limited in this game, you can improvise and make your own moves by stringing wall jumps, runs and various attacks together. There are many weapons and items which you pick up as you continue your journey. The weapons vary in stats but can only be up-graded slightly making them a bit boring. There are 19 chapters in all, 2 difficulty levels and a mission mode which you can unlock after completing the story campaign making Ninja Gaiden a hard and long game to complete 100%. Unfortunately the storyline in this game is quite random and hard to follow. You have to read quite a bit as well as watching the cutscenes carefully. At the end of the game you realise that the story is less complex than you first think so my advice; enjoy the fighting and don't worry about your ultimate objective. In my opinion you should get this game if you like a bit of everything. Do not get Ninja Gaiden Sigma if you prefer epic storylines to in-game things.

Awful
Awful game. How many more times can they remake the same game. Instead of taking time to remake the brilliant Ninja Gaiden (xbox, they could of made an actual follow up and different game. But no this is the same game as Ninja Gaiden Black. Dont waste your money. The graphics are the same as Ninja Gaiden Black, so no next gen graphics either. Just a new character which leave you with nothing to be excited about. My opinion get Ninja Gaiden Black, its £30 cheaper and its the same game minus couple of extras.

What the original Ninja Gaiden series should have been.
Great game, highly difficult and no story... kinda like a pure gameplay version of Metal Gear Rising. Definitely recommend to anyone who loves action games and dislikes being bogged down by cut scenes. And for the cut scene lovers (like me).... well, just buy the game.

Buen juego y difícil.
El juego ya se sabe. Me llegó antes de la fecha, genial en ese aspecto. Lo único malo, la carátula, el papel algo desgastado y arañado. Pero por 6 euros...
