TOPPING D10s USB Digital to Analog Converter, XU208 ES9038Q2M HiFi USB DAC, DSD256 32Bit/384kHz, Coaxial Optical RCA Audio Converter, Mini Desktop DAC for PC/Phone (Black)

After suffering from the Asus Strix Z590 & the dreaded problems of the realtek ALC4080 audio failures, especially the lack of proper linux driver support, (eeven as a USB audio device), I needed a replacement sound card that supported optical to feed some powered speakers, and better overall sound quality than the ALC4080 has been able to provide. I was forced to use a Creative SoundBlaster E1 USB DAC to get any audio, but this device was deesigned for headphone portability over desktop use, and lacks optical SPDIF. Since I use Ubuntu based Linux and VirtualBox guests for various movie and music entertainment, I needed a USB based device that can be assigned to a VM linux guest, with minimal or no configuration effort beyond simple plug and play. After reading many reviews on the quality and fuctionality of the few available linux supported sound cards, the Topping D10 kept coming up again and again as the best choice to replace a poorly implimented motherboard sound card, and still maintain the USB versatility for working with VirtualBox guests. The Topping D10s does just that; it provides only USB in, and optical & copper SPDIF, along with RCA jacks out, that makes it easy to simultaniously feed audio to other equipment, now and in the future. From Linux side, either host or guest, the D10s just plugs in and produces great audio, way way better than my motherboard audio ever did, which is now disabaled in favor of the D10s as my primary sound card device. Well worth the money, compared to similar linux supported sound cards, including Asus own Xonar AE. Very happy with this purchase.

Simple device for me to use alongside my Schiit IEMagni. ASIO Drivers are available and the Topping Audio Device Audio Controller is easy to navigate and simple to use. It is basically plug and play when you take it out of the box and comes with a reasonably long USB type B to USB A cable. The display is Orange with a black background with great viewing angles. It will automatically dims after powering on and automatically powers off when your pc shuts off (Which is great for me as I don't really like lights shining when I sleep). The only thing that is illuminated is a tiny dot which I believe means that it is powered. The DAC itself is relatively light but sturdy and has a good build quality, nothing really to complain about it as it is a well built device. It has a relatively small form factor but it long from front to back.

Value for money,sound very warm,analoglike. No MQS,but at this price....... it's okay. Upscale sound to 192kHz. Good entry level buy,par with Schiit'3product.

Wanted to like this but couldn't get it to work with my PC. Constant disconnecting and reconnecting and no troubleshooting would fix it. Heard good things but this just didn't work for me.

I was looking for a solution to fix my ground loop issue. I tried everything, but nothing worked so I decided I needed to go full digital. I first purchased the SMSL PO100 PRO which provided the same digital outputs but unfortunately the volume was not controllable while connected to my Mac. This Topping however did everything the SMSL did but the volume controls work under MacOS and Windows. This solved my ground loop issue and works perfectly under both operating systems that I frequently switch between while providing an amazingly high quality sound output. Definitely recommend.

I use it to get musics from Amazon musics from my notebook and pass through tube preamp and Aiyima A7 power amp. I have changed preamp and power amp’s op-amp with IC and discrete op-amps. This device does not add extra jitters and high, med, and low frequency sound and is faithful pass through source songs. I plugging it to notebook for month and it works fine. I have tried several DACs and all those changed musics tones. This device is very good.

If you're even considering buying this then you might as well. It's a very clean DAC that is high performance and relatively cheap. If all you're doing is listening to music then these will serve you just fine. I'm using them on my Stax Lambdas. You can find measurements for this DAC on Audio Science Review's forums. It's a very solid DAC regardless of price. Sure you can get better, but you'll be getting diminishing returns if all you're doing is listening.

The Topping D10s DAC gives very good audio quality. It is designed for use with a PC but I am currently using it with a Samsung Galaxy Tab A (USB C) connected to a powered USB hub. The analog output goes to a stereo receiver. I have not been able to get this DAC to work with a Fifth Generation iPad because the Lightning connector does not supply enough power. This is an Apple limitation, not a problem with the D10s. If you need a DAC to operate with Apple devices, you should buy one that is powered separately (e.g. Schiit Modi 3) or one with lower power requirements (e.g. Qudelix 5K).

Windows 11にしてからS社のオーディオインタフェースだと頻繁に音が途切れるので（しかも所有3機種全部）、ドライバソフトがいらないDACが良いのではないかと思い、レビューを参考にしながらこの機種を選定しました。 大正解で、音が途切れることがなくなりましたし、音質も良好です。当方、ビッグバンドジャズを主に聴きますが、とても良い音です。良い製品に巡り会えました。

I purchased the Topping D10s to use with a Raspberry Pi3 running Spotify Connect, Rotel RA-8208x2 amp and B&W DM220 speakers (1980s amp and speakers). With the D10s the sound quality is approaching CD quality on this system - with only the Pi's internal DAC the quality was terrible. This was an inexpensive way of adding digital streaming to my old stereo and I am pleased with the build quality, ease of use and sound quality. The only input is USB, but I think felt it would be more versatile than using a HAT, hardware attached on top of the Pi. The D10s has OPT and COAX out in addition to analogue, so using it to clean the single from the Pi on route to another DAC might also be an option in the future.

元々、PC→中級アンプ→パッシブスピーカーという構成だったので、あまり大きな変化は期待できないかもと思っていましたが、そうでもありませんでした。 私のような音響素人でもハッキリと音の解像度が上がったことが分かりました。曲によっては今まで聞こえなかった音が聞こえてきてびっくりです。 接続やセッティングも簡単なのでお勧めですね。

PCから当商品にUSBで接続し光でデジタルアンプにつないでいます。 音源はNASかspotify。使用した感想ですが、中音域以上がフラット気味に出力されている印象。 そのため、ボーカルのサウンドが明瞭でない感じがありますね。 音がとげとげしいです。聴くジャンルを選ぶ商品だという印象です。 今のところ、これまで使用していたMINI USB DACの方が好みの音なので その点で少しがっかりしていますが、しばらく使ってまたレビューを追記します。 スピーカーを大型のものにしたところ、いい感じに聴けるようになりました。 いろいろ試さないとわからないものですね。
