In terms of cost effectiveness, these items are quite expensive when you compare how much the line costs per metre BUT in terms of convenience, then they are great for the home user. I have never been able to load the line correctly to ensure that my trimmer was able to feed out line automatically; either the machine or more likely me. I converted my trimmer to the Oregon system and haven't looked back, just unclip the cassette, insert the disk, feed the line through the holes and go.Great product for the home user, a cartridge lasts me around a year for half an acre of garden and a long driveway.

Brilliant. Dramatically reduces downtime. Just wish I’d employed the system years ago. Did findthat a number of washers were required to make the unit compatible with my rather old McCulloch strimmer

these refills are easy and quick to fit during used but are a bit more expensive than normal line - overall, it's worth it to avoid hassle from tangles and constant stoppages

Really easy to assemble and easy as pie to change the cord.

Superb item, makes job easier

I ordered 2 x 3pack so 6 in total and only received 2 pcs, but was invoiced and paid for 6. They were incompatible with my strimmer and I had to pay to have them returned , not impressed.

On the Amazon site it states that this disc will will fit models 24-225 & 24-275 this is NOT correct It will not fit the smaller 24-225 Oregon head. If you have this model (24-225) be careful what you order as a replacement disc.

ordered wrong one. No fault of supplier

Everytime I had to weedeat my yard (which isn't big), I had to take 20mins of time winding a new set of string in the weedeater. After mowing the grass in the 105°F heat the last thing I wanted to do is mess around with the string. I bought the head of this and the extras thinking I will give it a shot. Insert mind blown emoji here..Duuuude. I have used this same string since my first install on 6 mows. I use it to edge the fence, house, sidewalks, trees, and everything. Works fantastically! That's already an upgrade. The string wasn't terrible because it would run out of string, no, some way some how one of the sides would break off and I had to redo it or it would run out of string (so freaking frustrating). I don't know about you, but I had to clean grass off, get to the nut, pop the thing out, rewind, make sure string doesn't get caught back behind wheel, while trying to realign top back on, and all the while to not let the string fray out. A lot of times this would be a couple of attempts to get this right. While melting in the awful humid heat. This stuff is awesome, one bump and string is great. I have refills, but I haven't used one yet. However, the initial install was cake. I would say the time it takes you to get the refill and click it in is less than 2mins. That is stopping what you are doing, cutting it off, walking all the way to the garage, taking 30 seconds to move some things around to find your replacements (due to the fact you haven't had to use one in a while), take it out of the original box, and then taking the 15 seconds to take the old out and the new in. Factoring the string replacements are a little over $1.50 in the refill box, it's a no brainer for me. I would pay $1.50 to save me the freaking hassel everytime I mowed the time it took to mess with that durn string. I thought I would just eat through the disks like the way printers get you on ink, however it hasn't been the case. One of THE best buys I have ever made. In the heat, doing a task that isn't on my list of awesome things to do, and then hasseling with the string had me contemplating life I was so frustrated. I had to keep the kids inside so they didn't hear the foul language I was speaking kind of angry. When it's 3 degrees hotter than hell outside messing with that weedeater had me fuming! This product has me back to singing tunes while I work and the kids are now allowed to be outside when I'm working! So, I guess it was good for me, the blood pressure, and the kids!
