If you have stomach issues…
So…if you suffer from IBS/IBD or anything similar (like Crohn’s, UC, etc.) I’d be very, very careful with these drink packets. I developed some severe digestive issues after I had my gallbladder removed in 2018 and certain things will upset my stomach so much that I’m stuck in the bathroom for hours. Unfortunately that was the case for me when it came to these. The taste was fine, but the fiber content was too much for me. My husband tried them and was drinking them for about a week, but even he had issues with how much they were making him go. I really think the key to these is figuring out how much your body can handle. If you already eat a high fiber diet like he does, drinking multiple packets of this stuff a day isn’t smart. Or, if you’re like me and missing a gallbladder and developed debilitating stomach and intestinal issues after said removal of gallbladder, maybe skip these if they make you blow up your toilet bowl.

Not very flavorful
I had great expectations for this, but I can't stand the flavor. My husband and I both tried it. We both tried to drink it and we couldn't make it through much of the drink. We tried it with plain water and a creamy smoothie. It was just awful. I was determined, so I drank it mixed in water anyway. Once it was alone, then with some lemon, then with grape water flavoring. My husband tried it in a smoothie with other berry flavors. That made it more palatable, but not good. I expected the acai, beet and pomegranate flavors to be the stars, but they are more like a slight afterthought. The basil seeds did not bother me, but I saw that they plump up more over time. My husband hates the seeds. We both tried the packets anyway that we could think of. Neither of us are picky when it comes to a hydrating drink, but we also didn't notice any benefits. Neither of us had any negative effects. This is just not one that I can recommend.

Interesting flavor
I love that beet root and pomegranate are supposed to be good for blood flow. This could help give some energy naturally for work outs without the caffeine. Acai is also a good antioxidant. This product has no sugar and a decent earthy flavor. I add it to my fruit punch to give it some jazz. I recommend maybe only using half because there are a LOT of seeds. The seeds fill you up quickly and will also gently cleanse you the next day. This product was designed for people who do fasting and want energy with low calories and something to help keep them full. It would also be good in a smoothie. The basil seeds are meant to replace the other well known seeds but with better benefits. The entire website is dedicated into talking about how basil seeds are super beneficial in blood sugar control, reducing blood pressure, and helping you feel full longer.

Lots of fiber
These hydration packets are full of seeds (if that’s not clear haha) and are very fibrous. My husband is into fitness and hydration and he was excited for these. He tried mixing with water since it says to mix with water or smoothies. He recommends it’d be much better in a smoothie because the seeds make it very chunky, and some float while others sink. It works better drinking it from a cup than a water bottle, because it gets stuck in the spout. He said the flavor is fine but it would be better in an unflavored option so that he can add it to his chocolate/vanilla protein shakes. It is nice for fasting and gut heath because it keeps him full and the fiber is good for promoting regularity. If you’re looking for a fruity, seedy, hydrating fasting aid, this may work great for you! Hope this helps.

👍
I found the convenience of the individual packets to be quite handy, as I could easily take them with me on-the-go or keep them in my bag for quick hydration anytime, anywhere. The packets are also very easy to use – simply mix with water, and you have a delicious hydrating drink ready to enjoy. One of the things I appreciated most about the Zen Basil Hydrate packets is that they are made with natural ingredients and don't contain any added sugars or artificial sweeteners. As someone who prefers healthier options, this was a big plus for me.On the downside, I found that the flavors could be a bit stronger. While the taste was pleasant, I think a more intense flavor profile would make the experience even more enjoyable.

Not for me.
Personally, I did not like the flavor of these packets. Despite that, I drank it anyway and didn't really feel like it gave me any extra energy or focus. Its also very expensive costing almost $2.40 a packet. Not for me.

Dfferent
I can't say that I loved this drink mix, but I didn't hate it either. The ease of portability was great but the taste was too mellow for my liking.

Good ingredients
The media could not be loaded. I like that this is made in the USA and has good organic ingredients. It definitely took getting used to the basil seeds in the water. It doesn’t have much of a taste good or bad. I didn’t expect it to since there is no sugar which is a good thing! Overall, great ingredients, easy to take on the go, and hopefully super healthy!
