I’m so glad I tried this sleep mask. I am a side sleeper and 98% of the time the mask stays in place. Definitely light blocking, I do have blackout curtains also, I appreciate the soft inside eye cups that keep the mask from putting pressure on your eyes. I’ve hand washed it twice and air dried it with no damage noticed. The comfortable wide elastic straps with an adjustable buckle is very comfortable, I don’t wear my mask tight so the band does move around a little but stays in place , no Velcro to get tangled in hair. The material isn’t silk but is just as comfortable and soft on the skin and hair. I get very little hair marks or dents. It’s not hot air can circulate without sacrificing the blackout effect.This mask would be for men and women, it had a very sleek design, easy for travel.I’m planning on purchasing another of the same just so l’m never without one. I highly recommend this mask! I’ve purchased a few different ones and this is my favorite!

Received 12/22, use daily.Con: Only issue is the nose contour is very short, so when it's in correct place on your nose (for me anyway) you get some light bleed around the baffle and the eye contours end up a little high to be totally useful keeping the band off your eyelashes because the bottom edge ends up right on the edge of the eye socket bone. And this also causes the mask to ride up if you toss much in the night. To solve the light bleed/riding up, you have to set the nose further down the bridge of your nose, which I don't like personally of that minor pressure on the bridge of my nose. It appears the 'updated' version the nose contour is longer/higher so maybe this solved this issue.Pro: Very!! soft, 99% light blocking (slight light bleed around nose as noted in other reviews).Perfect for side sleepers. Side bands are broad enough to cover the ear (not block sound) and soft so no pressure on ear at all, so no more bruising on the ears for the hard core side sleeper!And the tightners for the band are on the back NOT right at the temple/cheek/ear and are unnoticeable. So again, no more bruises on temple or ear for the side sleeper! And hold their tension throughout the night.Basically, for me, this fixed every issue I've encountered with sleep bands and side sleeping. My only issue is the nose contour size, and I'm not a big person (5'0). I love this band and will continue to use daily, though likely wouldn't buy again. But am considering the 'updated' version because I'd like to love this 100% rather than just a little less.

I love this sleeping mask. Best I’ve tried. Extremely comfortable and effective. I like the wider soft band that goes over the ears. The adjustment part is nice to use. I love the gaps for the eyes and lashes. Blocks the light and really helps you sleep when it’s bright. It comes with a pair of ear plugs too!

* FIRST IMPRESSIONSI usually don’t need to wear a face mask in the winter but our bedroom is so bright in the warmer months it’s like being woken up by a car’s full beams every morning. I tried several but none came even close to the comfort of this one!The material is very nice and soft to touch. It has contoured eye cups which helps not putting pressure on your eyes (an issue I’ve had with others before!).* COMFORTThese are bar far the most comfortable sleep mask I’ve had before! The main reason for me is that I’m a side sleeper and unlike others, this mask has the adjustable buckle at the back rather than on the sides. It makes all the difference as I found that having the buckle on the side would hurt. This is the not the case with this one and well done Alaska Bear for having thought of us, side sleepers!Another thing I really like with this mask is that is has a soft strap around the ears, which you put over, not above like others. I used to have sore ears in the morning with other masks but this one is perfect!I’m not quite bald yet but I think this might also be a good alternative for bald people due to the buckle / strap that can be moved more in the neck area than on the back of the head.* BLACKOUT EFFECTIVENESSThese block the light completely when adjusted properly. It’s true from other reviews that you could see light coming in around the nose but I found that could be the case if you move at night. The way I found which helps is to tighten the strap more. I’ve not had an issue since doing that, it hasn’t changed the comfort and is completely blackout. Mask is great- blocks all light and it so silky & comfy so you can get a great night sleep. A bonus is that the strap is very adjustable. I usually have to go for large size hats and theres still loads of room to adjust for me which is great so you dont need to worry about it being too small or tight round your head. Design is lovely too and it comes with a little clear pouch for travelling
