I recently ordered a crushable wool felt and water Repellent Fedora. It looks nice with one fault. The issue is the fit and the non adjustable hat band. I normally wear a size 7 3/8. This is my hat size and all my helmets are this size. This hat fits loose on me. The Leather drawstring hat band is not adjustable. There is a tape that could be placed inside the hat under the sweat band if needed. However, even with it placed, the hat still feels a little loose.I was debating if I should wet the hat and permanently shrink it. I was hesitant to do so as I have no experience in doing it. So, I opt to get an adjustable hat band and see if I could tighten the hat. I bought this adjustable Gamboa Cowboy Hat Band. I removed that sewed on leather hat band and slipped on the new one. I am happy to report that worked. The hat now fits perfect without the use of that spacer (tape). Now, it is just tight enough that it would not move around when I shake my head and it is not too tight that it would give me a headache.This Hat Band adjusts easily and seems able to stay locked in the desire length. It looks better than the original hat band. I am glad that I choose this method to tighten the hat and made it fit. Years ago, there is no such things as these form tapes and spacers and yet people were able to size their hats. The reason is HAT BANDS! This is what is needed. This is a much better solution and as far as I am concerned it is more elegant.

I’m using this hatband with a Sunday Afternoons Montana hat, which is a great hat for the money. The hat holds its shape well and the felt is thick and high quality. However, the stock hatband is brown faux leather. It’s fine because it’s neutral and keeps costs down, but I wanted something that pops a little more and this hatband satisfies on all counts. The adjustability means you can fine tune the hat to sit a little bit lower or higher on your head, or snug the fit up just a bit when it’s windy. The contrast of colors looks great too. It’s definitely a braided plastic instead of real horsehair at this price, but that’s fine and makes it more weather resistant. An excellent upgrade that completes an otherwise excellent hat!

Fits perfectly. Easy to put on hat

Looks pretty good and easy to adjust but it does loosen up with wear and isn't easily used to adjust hat size. After I adjusted to desired size I stitched it together so it wouldn't slip and a touch or two of hot glue keeps it on the hat.

This band is very thin for my liking. Had it been wider it would have been perfect for what I wanted.

Klasse Hutband

Pour moi il est nickel pour mon chapeau western taille 58, il est de la bonne taille et s'adapte parfaitement sur mon chapeau en plus cela lui donne un look sympa.

Sehr dezentes und leichtes Hutband, welches sehr schön verarbeitet ist. Wegen der perfekten Verarbeitung habe ich zunächst (auch) gezweifelt, ob das wirklich Rosshaar sein kann!? Ich hatte schon mal eines, wo viele kleine und größere Härchen kreuz und quer abstanden, was mir nicht so gefallen hat. Da das Hutband meinen schlichten schwarzen Stetson optimal aufwertet und sich das Band auch nicht wie Plastik anfühlt, ist es mir inzwischen egal, ob Rosshaar oder nicht!
