Desmond photographic has provided another innovative solution. This is essentially an Arca quick release clamp with a square baseplate, so you can switch directions on the fly without removing your camera from its own quick release plate. A quick release doubled (or squared). As with all of Desmond photographic products, this one is precisely machined and finished to perfection.

This Arca Swiss base is sturdy and solid and really feels substantial. I like that the level bubble on the side can be removed. This is a versatile perfect addition to a photographer's toolkit.

I own a few pieces of Desmond gear and know I can buy and not be disappointed with the quality. This Clamp is no exception. it looks and feels well made, both in hand and in operation. The Clamp works smooth, it turn smoothing and locks on tight.I like that the side level can be removed if need be. Some bubble levels seem to resist the bubble getting the the exact middle, this is not the case with this one, the bubble makes a smooth transition to the center.The clamp's center hole is threaded but the bottom plate is not, and the bottom plate can be removed.this is a nice addition to me gear.

This Arca base comes with a couple of options so that you can mount it in different circumstances. I got it so that I could have an Arca base for use on a C-Stand so that i can use my mirrorless camera shooting from above. This kit comes with a 3/8"/1/4" screw insert and has a removable base with four 2.5mm bolts.For my use, I had to remove that base because the 1/4" adapter that I was attaching it to was too short to reach otherwise. This makes the base more flexible than some others.For my use, this adapter worked very well, so I have no problem giving it the full 5 star rating. It is well designed, well made, versatile and reasonably priced.

This thing is built like a tank. I really like it. The first thing you notice when you take it out of the box is how sturdy it is. Actually more so than I expected. The moving parts to secure the Area mount from your comer is buttery smooth. Like "Really smooth." Feels like truly well built solid piece of equipment and worth to hold my precious camera. Everything else is as you should expect. Comes complete with a tool key and mount reducer screw. Overall a wonderful Arca mount. Highly Recommend!!
