I bought this for my son and he loves it. The lights and stars make his room look amazing at night. It helps him relax and fall asleep faster. The projector has different colors and scenes, and it can rotate too, which he really enjoys. It’s easy to use and has a timer, so it turns off by itself. The focus can be adjusted, and the images look nice and clear on the ceiling. Overall, a great product for kids. I’m happy with the purchase and would recommend it!

I originally purchased a more expensive projector that contained a built-in battery, but then I saw that this Galaxy Projector was much less in cost compared to the other one. I decided to buy it and give it a try since I really wasn't sure that I really required a battery. The Galaxy is compact and projects well for it's size. But first you must set you expectations and know what you are looking for. This is not one of those dazzling star projectors that projectors sparkles, stars, in an array of colors all over the place, this in an essence is a "slide projector". The better the quality of the slide, the sharper and more realistic the projected images will be. Overall while the slides were not extremely realistic in comparison to the more expense brand, they were acceptable for what these things are purposed for. I projected it over a king-sided bed and it filled the circle nearly perfectly in terms of size comparison. You'll need a well darkened room to really get the full effect. Blackout curtains or a windowless room are great in the daytime, with ambient light it isn't so bad, but a dark room is where this works best. The projector has a slide rotation mode and it has a timer. I have not tried the timer but I've used the slide rotator function while laying back on the bed starring up at the ceiling. Within 2 to 3 minutes I felt a little dizzy and thought to myself, "this is a bad idea if you have a hungover". All in all, if you want the sharpest image possible, you'll need the buy the more expensive brands at 3X the cost of this one in order to get the HD slides that fit them since they are not interchangeable with the lower-end brands. The quality of the slides is what what's make the biggest difference essentially in all of these projectors (The projected image footprints are roughly the same in comparison). In my opinion, for the price, this Galaxy projector can't be beat if you are looking for lower cost but fully capable solution. It makes a great gift and it already comes with two sets of slides (12 slides total). The more expensive projector only include one slide and cost $10 each additional slide). The images I posted were captured with my cell phone and are of images projected on the ceiling above my bed. It can project a wider footprint if I placed it on the floor in the center of the room, but there's a king-sized bed in the way. The only issue I found with this projector is the slide tray gets a little stuck and it can be difficult to pull out with pull tab provided. It contains no grip, therefore, use care when inserting the slide so that it does not get stuck (insert gently). YMMV

I love that I can set this up next to my bed and use the interchangeable discs to alter my view. It is of particular help on nights when I can’t get back to sleep after waking in the early morning hours. Anybody who’s getting older recognizes that that happens sometimes, and this is a real lifesaver and helping me get back to sleep. I also love being able to watch the heavens at night as I drift off to sleep. The stars and the beauty and wonder of our universe are something I really think people are meant to see on a routine and regular basis. Short of sleeping outside, or in a tee pee, this star projector enhances the quality of my life. I give this five stars and suggest you really should add this either to your room, to the room of a loved one, or to the room of a family member to enhance the quality of their night and their lives.

My friend bought this projector for her 4-year old and recommended it to me for my son, who is the same age and is passionate about all things outer space, including black holes, nebulas, and planets. This replaced a much simpler projector we had with slides of just the planets. It did not disappoint! Comes with a nice variety of images and I love the timer. The only thing I wished is that the image sharpening was a little better - you can adjust the focus and it's definitely good enough for the effect but I wish it were a little crisper. We're really enjoying it and I integrate what he's learning about moon phases, black holes, and galaxies into this experience. Regular part of our nighttime routine now.

I was looking for a night light that features space or galaxy and this projector does the trick. The settings are very simple and it doesn’t not need a whole lot of “space” lol needless to say it was definitely worth it. This projector includes 7 different discs that display: 1 the Milky Way, 2 variety of galaxies, 1 crescent moon & clouds, 2 varieties of planets, and 1 that symbolize Christmas night (I think). The adjustments of clarity is simple and it works well it’s located on the lens area. Just turn the part that is around the lens (do not touch the lens itself) left or right to adjust. My ceiling is bright white in color so the projector works really well with the background. There are are four buttons to change the setting and timer (you must read the manual to understand). Overall I think it’s a great night light for anyone.

I'm sad to write this review. This is the second projector I've purchased. The first one got really loud after about 6 months. The second one seemed ok, although it seemed like the rotation wasn't working right. The new and improved slides are truly breathtaking. However, about half were a tiny bit warped, so they stick in the rotation and you get a weird click and then the image bounces backwards. It's odd and bothers my 6 year old, who uses this as a night light. She loves this thing but we ended up having to get rid of alot of beautiful slides because they just didn't work right. We've only had it for a few months. So my review is mixed. It's beautiful and magical, and we all love it. But the quality is bad and the life span is short.

This projector seemed to have a lot of great options that were exactly what we were looking for; it has 7 different projections that the children love to choose from each night, the 1 hour timer is a must, it has an overall simple design, and the image focus makes it easy to set anywhere in the room and have a clear image. Most other projectors either had bad options for the projected image (not very realistic space scenes) or had only one image to project that wasn’t very good either. This projector was a great value and the kids love it. The stars that light up on the projector itself are a bit much and I wish they didn’t light up every time, but you can disable those with a few clicks of one of the buttons on the back. Overall very happy with the purchase.

Update: After 2 months of consistent use, all of the discs have lost their color and the images now show lines. I've attempted to contact the sender but can't find contact information, and they haven't answered my question on this posting. Very disappointed. After seeing many other buyers posting the same issue, I changed my review to 1 star. Original review [4 stars]: The discs provide a beautiful, clear, crisp images with smooth, quiet rotation - which can be turned off if desired for a stationary picture. The swivel design allows you to point the image at an angle, which is helpful if you need to place the device on furniture in the corner of the room. The brightness is great. Our son loves picking a new disc each night before bed. From the listing picture/video, it looked like the dome of the light would project stars onto the wall (separate from the disc). However, the stars from the dome are far too diffused to create any kind of image on the wall, so all you see is the image from the disc. This was a bit of a disappointment since our previous light created a whole room of rotating stars, and we thought this light would do the same based on the implication from the picture/video. Overall, this is a good quality product.
