I really like this filter. It get rids of 99% of limescale in the kettle which used to really bug me. I gave 4 stars not 5 because I think the top lid should fit better. Hopefully the makers will correct this in the next version. I Recommend it.

Flimsy and overpriced - can buy exactly the same from the supermarket for 20-25 pounds.

So pleased i decided to give this a go all i can say is the water is delicious to drink totallydifferent to brita water filters . although for the price it should be give it a try and you will seeits well worth it .

Not bad but has couple of issues. One is the continuous investment on the filters and secondly the filtering is sometimes too much meaning its seeping through edge or at other times totally stops meaning air under sponge

I did a comparison with a glass of Brita water and it didn't taste much different to me so will have to take the manufacturer's word for it about the filtration.I've deducted 2 stars because for the price of it, you'd think they would design a better lid. This model only has a moulded grip on the jug. These things make it a pain to fill and use generally.December editThough I bought this in August I probably only used it for 2 months.I bought it as my dog needs special filtered water because of her kidney condition. Anyhow I tasted some the other day and it tasted so foul I had to spit it out. I cleaned out the jug and tried again. Awful. No wonder my dog has not been drinking much water. I only hope no lasting damage has been done. I have had to throw out a batch of dog food made using that water. I'm assuming if you don't spend silly money replacing the cartridge frequently, this is what happens.Probably my fault in that they say it may only last 6 weeks if the water is 'heavily contaminated.If you are using this mainly for an animal, I recommend daily taste testing after a months use. That's the only way I know to see if the cartridge needs replacing.Revised to 3 stars.

it produced the most amazing, pure water but after about 18 months the cartridges stopped fitting correctly in the jug and so the water wasnt being filtered but just seeping around the outside. we had to throw it away. I still have a cartridge I cant use ):

I am very pleased with the pure taste of the water filtered through this, which I have been using for over 6 months now. It compares well to all but the best bottled mineral waters that I have tasted. This filter totally removed the chlorine taste (along with other unpalatable tastes) from my local water. The chlorine level of my tap water was measured as 0.15mg/l which is well within the recommended 'safe' limit of 0.5mg/l but nevertheless, to me, the water tasted like swimming pool water. Of course, I recognize that chlorine is necessary as a disinfectant. The local water company said that filtering the water would be unlikely to remove the taste but these filters have done exactly that. I take this as some evidence that they may be worth the higher price than average jug filters, but I have not compared them myself.

The water filtration is brilliant but the jug design is not very ergonomic it's difficult to lift and fill .The lid comes off when filling, saying that , I will be ordering the jug with the handle on . I haveHad a Britta for years but the Acala Quell filter is superior.
