Buy National Audubon Society Field Guide to Fishes: North America on desertcart.com ✓ FREE SHIPPING on qualified orders Review: Faster then google, a great value, five star but with a little improvement could be perfect. - 5-stars but could still be better (6star). Vinyl cover can be cleaned easy. Faster then google or apps for identification. A few of pictures could be improved even if it were a fish out of water picture, but use catch and release pictures from fishermen not dead museum pictures because dead fish change color slightly. Also could include alternate local names like “red fish” for red drum, black&white silhouettes in text area margins. A few pictures are not full on side shots. But still a 5 star book for fishermen, student oceanographer, or after the fact (because it’s not water proof) diver. Review: Describes fish! - I'm not sure what has gotten into my kid, but this book was his Christmas wish. It has all the fish and detailed information on where they can be found, what they look like, and how to identify them clearly. If I wanted to know what a sunfish looked like and how it was different from a Warmouth, then I would have the book needed.

As good as you will find
As good as you will find. Compact enough to take fishing. Quality materials. Great pictures. Good for identifying what you have caught: helps to stay out of trouble! There are a lot or rules regarding fish these days. You better know what you can and cannot catch/keep and what they look like.

Great book! Terrible PR for Wolf Fish!
While the caliber of the Audubon Field Guides has always been/remains phenomenal, they have updated all of the photographs in this volume. Normally that would be great, but I bought this mainly because I remember the exact image of the Altantic Wolf Fish from my childhood—big fat cheeks, semi-coiled sinewy body, visible scowling expression and prominently exposed teeth—and was psyched to show it to my daughter. The new photo is hideously unflattering and shows only the head of this beloved animal. I am deeply disappointed—I don’t care if the reason is absurd! It’s the little things in life, you know?

Very informational source about sea creatures
Bought this product for my 8 year old grandson, who loves to read information about sea animals. He loves it and reads and shares information he reads.

Another great Audubon book, and faster than the internet.
I got this for my dad in 2016, and only now in 2017 (with license in hand) is he able to enjoy it. Good pictures as always and he enjoys studying it and dreaming about catching some of these fine species. Me, I prefer to look at the pages, and get my fish from a can.

Good, but could be expanded
It's very thorough on what it does cover but I think it should have been split into several guides covering regional areas such as the East Coast, the Gulf Coast, the West Coast and inland freshwater areas. Because of the fact it tries to cover all areas in a single volume, it is not nearly as comprehensive as it could be had it been split up. I also think there could have been a more comprehensive set of color plates as a number of fish species described have no photo at all and some even have no line drawing.

Another amazing guide, good pictures for identification and easy to find information. Wish there was more information on there habitat or spawning but its still a great guide for identification.
