Simply a good quality tool!
It works well. Not too heavy and plenty of power for most anything it has the capacity to cut. The bigger stuff can stop it, so you back off and go at it again.

Love this pruner so much
I’ve been looking for a printer for a while now and first got a black and decker but the battery kept failing and finally settled with this makita prunner since I have batteries for my tools already and oh my goodness it was so easy to prune all my bushes around my house and had 3/4 battery life left on my 5 amp hour battery. They are nice and sharp and perfect for bushes around the house that aren’t overly grown up and huge. Perfect for maintaining bushes in your landscaping regularly with the ease of use of this product.

Great tool,
This trimmer is a work horse. Very powerful and light weight for ease of use. Also purchased the Makita Vacuum/Blower and these two make this 70+ old mans work much easier. Great tools.

Great tool for trimming around your house.

Quiet. Light-weight. Sharp blades.
Installed a battery, started trimming hedges and vegetation, and after an hour of constant work, the battery remained at nearly full capacity. Took a bit of practice to get through thick branches, but it was easy. Quiet. Sharp blades, and relatively light weight. Let's see if it lasts.

Not recommended
Disappointed. This hedge trimmer is underpowered. Runs on a single 18v LXT type battery and performance is underwhelming. Operates at only half the speed of my former electric plug in hedge trimmer. I bought this due previous purchase of Makita leaf blower that performed admirably, however it used 2 18V LXT batteries. I assumed the hedge trimmer needing only one would be adequate. I was wrong. I now spend twice the time as before. Also struggles with branches well below the recommended size limit. Do not recommend.

Easy and fun to use
My husband bought this to trim our hedges. It is a ton of fun to use. We took turns because it was so easy and so satisfying to use. Super light weight and easy to maneuver to get your hedges cut just like you want them.
