Good choice for occasional use
I have used the Hikenture gaiters a few times now during my hiking tours. I am 5' 11 " tall and am satisfied with the height of the large size gaiters. It covers my complete under leg up to the bottom of my knee. For my calf the medium size would have been sufficient but that doesn't affect my review. The adjustable drawstring holds the gaiters in place without strangulating my leg too much, although I would prefer a Velcro or at least a flat strap to tighten it.The instep strap has numerous holes for the right adjustment. The flap and pin on the outside are a good invention to fix the excess strap. The hooks to fix the gaiters to the laces are a nice extra so that everything stays in place. The zipper runs smooth but I wonder why it goes from the bottom to the top and not the other way round. It would be easier to put on than and the risk that it opens can be eliminated as well. It would be a nice improvement if the zipper had an additional overlap, perhaps with a Velcro, because the zipper is always a weak spot for water to come in, no matter how upgraded it is. :)I didn't use the gaiters in a rainy situation yet so I can say nothing about waterproofness but the fabric itself seems to be durable and water resistant. When hiking muddy paths it is a significant facilitation to easily clean the gaiters with a wet cloth and not to have the whole dirt on the legs of my hiking pants. It also gives good protection against thorny plants and makes it harder for ticks to take a ride. The breathability is okay and the inner fabric feels good even on naked skin. I sweat a little more than I would have with other gaiters I used before. The light weight and the additional bag make it easy and clean to tuck the gaiters into the backpack if not used. For a price under $25 these gaiters are a good choice - especially for occasional use.

These Gaiters Don’t Bite
For over four decades I have been backpacking and hiking, and I never like to hike without a pair of gaiters. I have thru-hiked long trails such as the John Muir Trail, the Appalachian Trail, and the Vermont Long Trail all wearing a pair of boot gaiters. They are so helpful at keeping out sand, stones, sticks, leaves, and other debris. They are also great at preventing water from rushing in over the top of your boots when doing river and stream crossings. Lastly, they help keep stinging nettles, biting ticks, and stinging insects off your legs. The gaiters I usually use have a Velcro type close instead of a zippered closure, but the zippers on these do close fairly easily.Pros:- They are made from a durable waterproof 600D nylon and will stand up to abuse, and the interior of the gaiters are lined with a white brushed fabric that is soft against the skin when wearing shorts.- They have an adjustable TPU strap for under the foot that is retained in place by a metal buckle, and the whole system is very robust and durable, and there is a thick tab for tucking-in the tail.- The zipper opening is offset to the side for easy opening and closure, and it has a waterproof design.- To keep the gaiter from riding up the foot or sliding around, there is a metal toe hook fastener.- At 16-inches tall, they provide great coverage up to the bottom of the knee.- There are cord-locks on bungie strings for tightening the cuffs around the legs, which are easy to manipulate.Cons:- After a long hike you can feel the underside of the zipper-pull under your knee and the top of the zipper teeth when wearing shorts.- Once it wears out, the strap under the foot is not replaceable, which is always the first thing to wear out on my gaiters. Fortunately, this strap is so thick that I think it could outlast the gaiter itself.- Although the zippers are a waterproof design, they’re still zippers. Zippers are prone to failure and more difficult to get on and off than a wide strip of Velcro, and zippers on gaiters will be subjected to a lot more abuse than zippers on most other articles of clothing.- The top cuff drawstring is just a thin piece of shock-cord. After a long hike you can feel it on your leg. I would have preferred a flat piece of webbing as it would be stronger and more comfortable.Despite my nitpicks, this pair of gaiters is around half the price of most comparable gaiters from the well-known name brands, and as a result I am deducting 1.5 stars. At only twenty-three bucks they are a good value and would be great for yourself or as a spare or to lend to a hiking partner. If these were twice the going price, then I would likely deduct two stars.

Could have used a size guide, but seem well made
I got the wrong size because there wasn't a size chart to help me understand their sizing, but they'll still function and seem to be well made. They fit a little bigger than I expected, so maybe get a size smaller than you think you need.

Pretty good overall, but they are soft and thin.
This product is a pair of gaiters which cover your foot and ankle area for when you are in a messy environment. They strap to your leg and your shoe, but they don't cover the whole shoe. You will still be walking on the ground with the bottom of your shoe.Overall these are going to be great for muddy conditions, and they will also help keep some ticks away in tall grass. The one thing they cannot prevent against is sharp or strong damage. So animal bites will probably penetrate this product, you can still bang your shin on a sharp log or rock that is sticking out, and of course your shoes will still get dirty. I will probably wear these on most hikes, but if it gets to where there are muddy conditions or risk of snake bites, I will have to switch to full foot rubbers or other heavy boots. These are quite portable too, you can throw them in your bag or have them dangling from the outside of your bag if they're already dirty.

Lightweight and easy to put on
The gaiters are nicely designed and made. They are easy to put on and the zipper is easy to open and close. The boot strap is functional, but may not hold up for hiking. They fit around my work boots rather well and they close up nicely around my calf. They are a good lightweight gaiter for doing work around the house.

These are nice gaiters.
I got these for snowshoeing in the winter months. These are the best gaiters I have ever owned. The zippers are nice, the straps are actually long enough to not tug down on the gaiters. Nice water proof material, well made. These have good construction and overall materials. The only slight problem I see is I wish the straps that go under your boot would be made of old fashioned leather. That would give these 6 stars. We will see how long the man made shiny plastic strap holds up, but over these are nice.
