Perfect fit and works like a charm!
This ice cream maker is a great value for the price. The bowl is well built and freezes evenly. We've used this 3 or 4 times and the ice cream has been dreamy. My husband refuses to buy store bought ice cream now. With the proper care and handling, I can see using this ice cream attachment for many years. It takes a full 30 minutes to blend the ice cream and an hour or 2 in the freezer to firm up, but I've never used another ice cream maker without a compressor that was any faster. The quality for the cost is definitely in the buyers favor and worth the investment.

Broke after 2 uses
I was really excited to use this product. The first time I used it, it did exactly what it was supposed to do. The second time, it was ok, but not like the first, so I figured it must have been my recipe, or maybe I overchurned. This last time, I went to pull it out of the freezer and noticed a big frozen blue puddle underneath it. Now, I have kids, so my first thought was one of them must have done something weird (iykyk), and didn't really think anything of it, so I continued on. About 20 minutes into the churn, I noticed it's going kind of the same thing as the last time where it's not really setting. I stop it and take the bowl out, and notice more blue dropping from the bottom, and that's when I realize there's a huge crack in it at the bottom, and the blue stuff i saw must be the antifreeze or whatever it is they put in there to make it cold. In less than 1 year I've used it 3 times, and now it's unusable. I had to throw away the ice cream, such a waste. I do not recommend this product at all.

Great addition to my collection of attachments!
I was a little skeptical about this at first, but after the first batch I was totally sold!I remember waiting hours when I was young, watching grandma add ice and salt and the amount of time involved. This was a wonderful surprise! 25 minutes from pour in to scoop out! Not anywhere close to a noisy as those other machines.

Cracked after a year
It was amazing, and lasted a year. We made ice cream anytime we got the urge pretty quickly- usually freezes in about 20 minutes. After a year, we noticed a crack in the outside of the bowl that leaks blue liquid. I’m looking for some way to seal the leak.

Would buy again
Love mine. Is a little on the big side for keeping it in the freezer. My freezer is small so I have to plan ahead to make sure I have space in my freezer a couple days before I want to use it. Good quality

Fantastic Bowl
I love this bowl. It makes the most fantastic ice crème in 15-22 minutes. I have made vanilla, rocky road, maple walnut, and butter pecan and everyone of them has been a major hit with my family. The only reason I deducted a half a point is because I think the connecting piece could be designed a little better. It does not stick to the top till you put the bowl lift in the up position. (I have a bowl lift 6qt pro). My mixer is an older one so maybe the newer ones stay attached easier. This does not stay attached once you put the bowl lift down. It takes 2 hands (or two people) to keep the attached part in place till the bowl is lifted. Once you get the hang of it, it is fairly easy. Works GREAT, once it is together. The recipes I have made have filled the bowl to the brim. It is a generous bowl.

Bowl failed leaking coolant liquid.
This ice cream attachment for kitchen aid works as advertised easy to use but I pulled it out of the freezer today and made a batch of ice cream and when I was done there was blue liquid leaking from the bottom I discovered several cracks along the mounting point on the bottom I have only made 3-4 batches in this unit. It was not cheap around $70.00 and you’d expect it to last longer. I store the unit in the freezer like instructed. There is no reason for this failure I guess I’ll need to find an alternative to make ice cream. Only had a few months but Amazon says no customer support available so no recourse.
