UPDATE (7/12/24)I was able to connect with customer service. Unfortunately, their response was delayed due to illness. Once we connected, they were very quick to help me replace the defective light. I'm very happy with their attentiveness and commitment to resolving the issue.***********************************************I initially loved the GVM SD80D that I purchased. The quality of light it provided and its features were excellent, and it perfectly met my needs. However, after just about 6 months, the light stopped working entirely. Now, I have a light that does not work, and it has been incredibly frustrating.I've tried contacting GVM multiple times through both phone and email to resolve the issue or replace the unit, but I have not received any response. The lack of customer service and support is very disappointing.If this issue does not get resolved soon, I will never buy another GVM product again. For the price I paid and all of the online reviews, I expected better quality and support. This experience has been very disappointing.

It was a little difficult to figure out how to put together, but after I did I was very happy with the outcome.

The kit comes with a softbox, stand and a remote to control the light. The light is a static light, which is very useful for studio setup or for recording the videos. The light intensity and color temperature can be adjusted for a suitable light effect.The power of 80 watts is sufficient for recording the videos as the key light. Overall quality is very good.

I have other "budget" photography lights but I find myself using this one quite a lot. Yes it is not the brightest but in a lot of scenarios it is bright enough - especially for the beginner.The beauty of this light is its size and its ability to run on batteries (if they were included there would be bonus points).The other thing is the accessories. I have purchased lights that only come with a reflector and no stand, making it quite useless out of the box.This light has a stand and soft box so you can start shooting right away.All that being said: the directions are wonky and the controls take some getting used to, they are not intuitive.And they leave you in the dark in terms of putting together the soft box which was very difficult and involved a lot of trial and error.All that being said this is a great starter light, at least for me.

The build quality was cheap, the stand was broke. I had to return it.

This is a budget light. It's low powered (80watts), but packs some cool features that make it a good value for me.This would be most useful for a hair/accent light if used in a set-up - or if you need to be battery powered; it is also pretty quiet. This is a fantastic find if you are looking for a budget friendly beginner LED light for youtube / small films.I really like that it is a Bowens mount, so you can use a variety of modifiers with it. This does come with a small octabox and a 7" reflector. The octabox is a pain to assemble/disassemble and is best left fully assembled all the time. If you need a portable set-up, check out the GLOW series from Adorama.This shines with the quiet fan and the ability to use Batteries or AC. This means you can quickly mount this light in a difficult position and use it. That is a great and clean feature.It has an app, which is OK at best. I prefer to just control it via the light itself.When you compare the price with the feature you get, this is a nice set-up.

This is a high quality light and is part of a robust system. However, the instructions are no help for assembling the umbrella. The help I can provide is the ribs fit behind the Velcro taps on the edge. It’s not obvious but there’s a pocket between the fabric and the Velcro. Once assembled, the controls are great and you can really fine tune the light color and level. The stand it very sturdy and should hold up to lots of rugged use

The light came well packed and it’s been working great for my amateur studio.
