Peter Parker the Spectacular Spider-Man 1: Into the Twilight

I had grown a little tired of the Amazing Spider-Man in the past few years and wanted a new voice. Not that I don't like Dan Slott, but I just don't like Peter Parker as Tony Stark. Chip Zdarsky has rocketed up the ranks and seemed like a great fit for Spider-Man and this book shows that he is. I like how he writes Peter/Spidey and the tone of the book is a little more light, which is how I like my Spider-Man. Comics are an escape for me and they have become increasingly dark and depressing. I want fun and this title brings the fun back to Spider-Man.

This book balances action, wit, and heart in the most Spider-Man of ways without feeling weighed down by a demand of extensive Marvel knowledge.

I love Spiderman. The story in this book was great. I am always looking for action and Spiderman gives it to me. The cliff hanger makes me want more. You always see the Peter Parker side, Spiderman really is good guy.

As a long time Spider-Man fan I have been greatly disappointed with Amazing for the last few years. Dan Slott's run started off pretty good but hit a wall after Superior Spider-man and went steadily downhill. I was very happy to see Chip Zdarsky was writing this series and was not disappointed.

After starting to collect comics again i started with this and was not disappointed in the least the first three pages lets you know everything you got to know ion terms of plot, tone, and what to expect!

The comic itself is good. I would reccomend this any new readers who are trying to familiarize themselves with the Marvel universe. Or anyone looking to start a Spider-Man series without going through the whole origin of Peter Parker becoming Spider-Man.With that said attached I have pictures of the condition of the graphic novel as I received it from Amazon. Apparently they need better quality control? I would have sent it back but it was only $10 and not a monumental comic.

Not bad but I seen better.

Best characterization of Peter Parker in YEARS. Love it. He's never been more human and vulnerable, and the stories are even more exciting because of it.

Very good have spidey Back! The Story is Fun and not in a goofy way. The plot with Peter’s “sister” is interesting. After a long Way with Slott’s spider-man, it’s a fresh start for the character.

Superior Spider-Man, Amazing Spider-Man, Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man: Marvel sorgt dafür, dass seine Leser nicht unterversorgt sind, und so gibt es auch von Spidey diverse Heft=Reihen, die oft auch parallel laufen.Wer als Sammler nur Hardcover und Omnibus-Bände kauft, verliert leicht den Anschluss ans aktuelle MCU, so dass ich im Wege der Nacheile einige der Reihen nachlesen will, die es als TPBs gibt.Chip Zdarsky hat mich mit seinem Marvel 2-In-One Vol. 1: Fate of the Four bereits überzeugen können, darum war ich vor allem auf seinen Spectacular Spider-Man=Run gespannt.Das anfängliche "Ach, naja, nicht schlecht, aber irgendwie..."=Gefühl hielt zum Glück nur die ersten drei Hefte an. Peter Parker macht zunächst auf Comedian und die Grundstimmung ist mehr Sit-Com als Superhero=ing, aber dann fügen sich die einzelnen Teile zu einem größeren Bild und die Handlung nimmt Fahrt auf und wird auch endlich spannend. Und als das Buch zu Ende ist, will ich wissen, wie es weiter geht: das ist doch ein Qualitätsmerkmal!Guter Start in einen neuen Spidey=Run, das nächste TPB wird zeigen, ob es sich lohnt, an der Reihe dran zu bleiben (wie eingangs erwähnt: es gibt ja genug Auswahl, insofern macht sich Marvel selbst Konkurrenz).

Je ne suis pas spécialement fanatique du super-héros "multi-tâches". Aussi, quand Marvel a annulé toutes les séries consacrées à Spider-Man pour ne garder que la série "historique", "Amazing Spider-Man", le cas échéant en la faisant passer de mensuelle à hebdomadaire, j'étais plutôt OK. C'est la fin du mariage avec MJ qui fut dure à avaler, et encore pas trop, car à l'époque je venais juste de m'intéresser de nouveau aux comic books de super-héros. Bien sûr, Spider-Man a rapidement et durablement été drafté dans l'équipe des Vengeurs de BENDIS (d'où "Avenging Spider-Man", une série spécifique à cette question, qui n'a pas duré), et il a eu une mini-série avec Wolverine et plein de séries dérivées, mais, le caractère unique de la série consacrée restait. Et je n'ai rien eu à dire - en tout cas à son début -, à la ligne "Renew Your Vows" née des "Battleworlds" qui faisait comme si "One Moment In Time" n'était jamais arrivé !C'est dire si je n'ai pas spécialement voulu m'intéresser à la série "Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man". Il a fallu quasiment que le comic shop où j'ai mes habitudes le mette dans mon sac pour que je tente l'expérience. C'est le très professionnel Adam KUBERT aux dessins (il avait déjà pris en charge le premier arc de la série "Renew Your Vows"), et le scénariste Chip ZDARSKY se montre habile à utiliser chaque possibilité que lui donne la continuité principale (confiée à Dan SLOTT) pour bâtir une histoire et des "sub-plots" intéressants. Ainsi, Spider-Man rencontre une "attractive" jeune fille du nom de Rebecca LONDON, retrouve son "vieil ami" Johnny STORM mais aussi Ant-Man, et le frère caché du "Tinkerer" qui est le mécano des super-héros qui n'ont pas la chance d'être des génies en physique, et sa soeur Teresa PARKER, et le Caïd, et Jonah J. JAMESON (il faut lire cette scène historique avec Pet... erm... Spider-Man !), le Vautour, Robbie ROBERTSON...Bref, cette série réussit le tour de force de se révéler être intéressante pour ne pas dire presque aussi passionnante que la série principale !

First Spider-Man graphic novel, really pleased with it. Would recommend to people. Got it in the kindle sale and I think it would’ve been even better in paper form but kindle was still good. Saved place easily as well.
