Valerian Vol.6: Ambassador of the Shadows (Valerian and Laureline) (Valerian & Laureline)

Great episode full of surprises and excellent humour
Album number 6 is a fabulous story. I was positively surprised, perhaps because after quite average 'Birds of Master' I didn't have too high expectations. This is a hard S-F story with action taking place at the Point Central, huge multicultural space station. In this episode our usual hero Valerian plays supporting role and the main focus is on Laureline who simply can join the pantheon of mightiest S-F heroines. The story is full of surprises with excellent humour and graphic is a first class.Everyone who already loved the adventures of Valerian and Laureline will be happy to see that Cinebook announces two more albums: 'On the False Earths' and 'Heroes of the Equinox planned for 2014.

Much better than the film
A strip I can re-read with pleasure. It's a great pity that the recent film utterly failed to capture the charm of the original

Probably the best work of the series.

Excellent world building, if a little dated
Mind bendingly imaginative stunningly drawn sci fi epic in which manly Valerian and his pneumatic girl (suitable 1970s kick ass independent woman) rescue the Earth's Ambassador at Point Central, a mashed together collection of bits of alien worlds. Pretty sexist and dated but spectacularly well drawn.
