Stella, Queen of the Snow (Stella and Sam, 4)

I bought this along with some other Stella books. My niece's name is Stella so I don't have to have to tell you how glad i was to find these. I love reading these to her and she loves these books. She is about 18 months and she'll go into her room and bring me her stella book to read it to her. I will say that i'm glad i got the hardcovers because they are a bit more sturdy!

We have two other Stella books and this is an excellent addition to our home library. This Marie-Louise Gay book is, like her other offerings, filled with delightful wintry exploration. The author's watercolor paintings are, as always, wonderful. You and your children won't be disappointed! Both my 5-year old son AND by 3-year old daughter enjoy this book. You really can't top the tender interaction between Stella and Sam; poignant and humorous.

The Stella stories are wonderful. The stories are sweet and the illustrations are fantastic.

I do like the Stella and Sam books a lot. The kindness and caring that Stella shows toward her little brother is lovely and her imagination is clever and unique . My one BIG question about all these books is why aren't there any adults in the story.....never mentioned, not a trace of one at home or even pictured in the background in a public place? So it is all imaginary - fine - not so much as a band-aid is ever needed as they wander about. However, as a parent and grandparent that lack of caution bothers me.

Stella and her little brother Sam are charming; asking (Sam) and answering (Stella) whimsical questions. Parents and students alike love this series and tends to check out all of them at once... I need to order more to keep up with the demand! First grade reading level.

Super cute book! My first grader read it to a kindergarten class and followed it up with a snow man project. The kids loved the story.

These stories about Stella and her brother Sam are really cute! They are great for big sister whose little brothers are always asking a million questions. She is very patient and sweet! Fun fun books!

Ho cercato questo libro in italiano per mari e per monti... poi mi sono arresa e l'ho comprato in inglese, è stupendo come tutti gli altri della serie e mia figlia ne va pazza!!!

Reminds me of Lucy "teaching" Linus things in the play "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown"! Even my 10th grade students will enjoy being taken back to their childhood with this sweet story. This is a good one to have in your "grandma" collection.
