I Highly Recommended This Excellent, Thorough Guide to Chair Yoga
I became a Hatha Yoga teacher in 1987, and now am at an age where chair yoga is more approachable for me and my students. This book surpasses my expectations! It gives detailed background on yoga philosophy and includes careful, step by step instructions for each pose while discussing the benefits and contraindications for each one. I enjoy the extensive instruction on meditation and pranayama (yogic breathing practices). Honestly, I felt relaxed as I read this book before I began to follow its program. The book comes with free audio, so I can practice without the distraction of needing to look at the book while I get into a pose. In short, this book is generous and complete. I’m grateful for it and know my students will be too.

Happy Stretching
I was gifted a copy of Chair Yoga for Seniors and I so appreciated the information in the beginning of this book. In the introduction, Smith does a wonderful job of explaining how chair yoga can benefit seniors and why this style might be a better option.The first few chapters contain a thorough introduction to Yoga, and the importance of proper breathing techniques and how to get started. The remainder of the book provides step-by-step instructions of various exercises, each providing attention to various parts of the body.I love how Michael Smith provides clear information in an inviting way. Great chair yoga guide for seniors
This is a well-written and straightforward guide to chair yoga for seniors or people with injuries. It provides the reader with all basics, from choosing the right chair, and breathing techniques, to basic poses. All proposed poses are illustrated with clear drawings.The 15-minute sequences are beneficial and can easily be integrated into daily routines. If you manage to do so, your health will most certainly improve. Give it a try!

Great yoga guide for seniors
If you are new to yoga, this guide is a good starter. It provides you with all the basics, from breathing techniques for stressful situations to chair seating positions and lots more, to build the confidence to have yoga as part of your daily routine. Whilst I love the book's range of illustrations, some were a bit difficult to follow—a great effort from the author in putting this together.
