Basic Statistics for Business and Economics

This edition is a hard cover book for Basics Stats. I tend to prefer hard cover books due to the cover not bending out of place like the paperbacks. The book is in decent condition, no missing pages that I have noticed. However, it does contain quite a bit of writing and highlighting throughout the book. Some of the chapter review problems are written over so they can be a little hard to make out if you need to use them. Luckily, my professor did not ask us to use them so it did not negatively effect my work, but it could potentially be an issue for someone else.

Some concepts took me a few reads to fully grasp but it's a great textbook and I enjoy the subject. Classmates told me it was almost identical to their more recent (and more expensive) editions that they bought for the class. I'm glad I bought this slightly older edition and saved $100 or more dollars.

Not. the easiest to read and understand but it should be ok if you watch some videos on the topics.

The book is pretty well layed out. The issue I have run into is that on some of the equations it does not give you an example of how to solve it. This leads to questioning on if you worked it correctly. I got the book as a rental and there was only minimal marking in the book.

The book’s Spine was in really poor condition. I was always scared it would just fall apart if I moved it from my room so I did most of my hw there by default. It got the job done so I can’t complain too much.

This is the risk you run with a rented book, but this one was in pretty bad shape. The binding was broken, there were grease stains on several pages, etc. Of the books I have rented this one was probably in the worst condition.As to the actual text, it is fairly well written for a text book. Not overly verbose, opaque, or dense reading. Chapters are quick reads and the information is delivered in a really direct manner. They didn't try to get too clever with it, and I appreciate that.

The book was new and shipped shrink wrapped to cardboard so it arrived in good shape. After using it for a few weeks, I recommend the hardcover. I have ripped a few pages at the binders rings. One nice thing: it includes a removable cardstock sheet with formulas on it.

This was the correct book needed for my class starting in a week. So I was ready for the class when it started. Very pleased.
