More light weight than expected
The metal cap on the back and sheath were the selling points for me, but that cap is quite cheap thin metal feels like tin. But so far it's handled plenty of whacking to drive the saw into Sheetrock. Just doesn't feel heavy duty. Otherwise great design

great mini saw
The less metal, the less surface drag. Seriously sharp. This is the first product in this category I have loved.I have never been disappointed by a Fiskars product. I have no connection or affiliation with Fiskars. I just love the smooth cut and longevity of the edge. Lifetime warranty too. Never had to use one!

Generally Love the Concept, and Generally Good
Love that this hand saw uses standard reciprocating saw blades. This unit has a couple of problems that prevented me from awarding a five-star review though. #1: The blade wobbles a little too much side to side for my liking, and #2: When fitted with standard 6" reciprocating saw blades, the end of the blade protrudes slightly out of the housing when the blade is locked away. EPIC FAIL. Why???

Another winner from Fiskars
The media could not be loaded. Fiskars is a well-known and highly-regarded manufacturer which primarily makes yard and garden tools. I've owned a few of them over the years, my favorites being a set of bypass hand pruners and a short (15") pair of pruner-loppers (both tools are from the Power Gear line). I've owned and used these tools for YEARS, and they are still going strong. I don't even remember ever having to sharpen the blades, and they still cut like new.As it turns out, they don't JUST make garden tools. Case in point is this Fiskars Pro POWER TOOTH Universal Hand Saw. Most of the time when I'm working on a woodworking project I do my cuts with power tools, but now and then the job calls for a hand saw, and this one from Fiskars is my new go-to. One of the first things that struck me about this saw was the supreme comfort of the handle. It felt great just to hold, and as I found out when I actually cut with it that it is just as comfortable and easy on the hands to work with. The handle is plastic, and it's extremely solidly attached to the blade via a pair of well-placed bolts. There is no play whatsoever between the blade and handle. The blade itself is a mostly 9 TPI pitch, except for the first inch or two which has a 13 TPI pitch. This is incredibly useful for getting the cut started, as a higher pitch is much smoother and less likely to bounce around before it bites. The saw includes a plastic slip-on sheath to protect the cutting teeth on the blade. There is a little trick in putting it on, and that's to start the tip of the saw at the back end of the sheath and then just slide the sheath back onto the rest of the blade until it clips into place in the bottom of the handle. At first I tried to push the full sheath down onto the full length of the blade, but the aggressive tooth pattern made that very difficult. The slip-and-slide method I described makes the sheathing operation very easy. The saw looks and feels great in the hand, and it has good features, but how does it cut? To test it out I cut the edge off a seasoned and very hard hunk of live oak. Although this was a cut in dense hardwood (across the grain, no less) the high-pitch front of the blade made starting the cut easy, and cutting through the wood was pretty quick. The quality of the cut was very smooth as well. I didn't see any saw marks in the wood. I didn't press down too hard, letting the blade do most of the work. you can see the cut in the brief video clip I attached to this review. Note that I first cut through the BOTTOM of the wood. This wasn't an attempt to "cheat" the speed of the cut, but rather it was a first attempt after which the wood slipped out of the vise (which I didn't tighten down hard enough). So I flipped the wood over and tightened it more thoroughly and started again from the other side. This saw is a very well-made high-quality great-performing tool that I have every confidence will last practically forever like my other favorite Fiskars tools. Highly recommended!

Quality Saw…Ergonomic…Works Well
I was in need of a new handsaw. So, after a bit of looking, I came across this ‘Fiskars Pro PowerTooth Universal Hand Saw’ on Amazon…liked it…and ordered it.This is definitely a well made handsaw. You can feel the quality when you hold it. Snd the saw is very comfortable to hold and use. It’s very ergonomic. This ‘Fiskars Pro PowerTooth Universal Hand Saw’ also cuts very well. The blade is rigid, so there’s no bending when you cut like with the cheaper saws. And it cuts quickly and with actually very little effort. I think it’s a combination of the blade design and very sharp teeth that does it.All in all, I am very satisfied with this ‘Fiskars Pro PowerTooth Universal Hand Saw’. It’s well made…cuts well…is comfortable to use and hold…and comes with a great blade protector for when you’re not using it. I can definitely recommend this product if you’re in the market for a nice handsaw.

Not a good cutter.
I own two saws in this line. The folding saw and the carpenter's saw. Neither are very good. The teeth on carpenter's have no bite. Not sharp or aggressive enough. The folding saw suffers from the same problem, but also has uneven tooth set.

I was hesitant because of the price but I'm glad i got it
I got it specifically because it comes with a sheath but it is overall worth the price. It feels dull but cuts drywall easily, has a little rasp on the back side and has a solid pommel end for hitting things. Combined with the comfortable grip, it's worth getting.
