Very well made and sturdy just what I needed for the my Bosch drill

Fits my Bosch pillar drill
This is the only vice that will fit my Bosch pillar drill. It's a bit of a lightweight but it seems to be well designed and made but time will tell. Made in Germany and expensive compared to all the ones that don't fit!

Does the job but somewhat flimsy
I bought this vice as it matches the non-standard width of the Bosch drill press and it was not overly expensive. I used it yesterday to drill some holes in some small steel plates and it worked quite well despite the jaws not remaining at 90 degrees when tightened. This is a poorly designed product but still usable.

Expensive but value for money
Over £50 for a small vice is a lot of money. No regrets because it is a high quality item.Other, cheaper, vices don't fit a Bosch PBD 40 bench drill due to the odd size of the sleeves. 95 mm centresNo 5 star review because the fixings are not included. The fixings of the parallel guide of the Bosch PBD 40 don't fit this vice.I used two M8 x 25 mm bolts and nuts as fixings, you need a spanner.

Not value for money - get one that WORKS - or buy one at a third of the price of this one.
I bought this to use with a milling machine. That purpose followed a comment in "The Milling Machine" by Harold Hall, also bought from Amazon, to buy such a vice, 'cos a small milling machine doesn't need the complicated things sold for use with them.It turns out that this item has 8mm-wide slots and I wanted 10mm-wide ones to suit my [new] Chester milling machine (identical with the Clarke m/c sold by Machine Mart in the UK but cheaper).A couple of days after I received this, whilst I was looking for something else, I came across a cardboard box, buried at the bottom-back of my old workbench; it proved to contain a Bosch MS80 machine vice - same designation as the present model. The 35-year-old one is three times the weight, also has 8mm slots, came provided with the requisite bolts, doesn't have the "instant adjustment" feature but does have a hole for a tommy-bar in the handle. The older one doesn't allow the vice jaws to wobble - it has a machined slide and an adjustable-for-wear fixture that keeps the jaws in line, not the bit of bent metal used in the current model, which doesn't come cloe to achieving that purpose.Definitely not value for money; almost unusable for my intended purpose. If I can ever find something with which to hold [either of] them on the milling-machine table, I will machine a 10mm-wide slot and they might then be usable thereon.
