Boiled eggs and also made poached eggs, both take not take long and hardly any water was required, very efficient.

It has been 7 months since I bought this and I use it almost everyday. It comes with a water gauge which is also used to prick eggs. When I first bought it, I tried using the lines on the gauge to boil the eggs but did not really work out, then I decided to set a timer every time. I prefer 6.5 minutes but then it is very difficult to peel the eggs, therefore I go for 7 minutes. In terms of cleaning, the metal centre of the boiler builds up lime scale every single time and it only come off with limescale remover. It is a bit annoying to clean it but overall nice product. A built-in timer would be great.

We tried this on a number of occasions using the recommended measure of water but unfortunately the water evaporated and the alarm sounded before the eggs were cooked. We tried adding more water but then the eggs were hard boiled and not what we required. We will have to experiment further to get the correct water for the eggs to be cooked to our liking.

This egg boiler was absolutely awful for the start ... in every way!Almost impossible to time the eggs right - - - eggs too runny or very hard boiled- a horrendous noise when the cooking is finished- almost impossible to clean.We have had egg boilers before which we used almost every day ... with time we learned to get the eggs perfectly cooked to our kids' taste - quick and easy ... great healthy breakfast! Sadly, that egg boiler wore out and so I bought this, which I hoped was an upgrade ... with its blue sleek light and its ability to poach eggs ... I was excited!Unfortunately, it has been totally rubbish from the start! And after another ruined breakfast, that's exactly where it has ended up ... in the bin!Save the money, save the headache, save the planet ... don't buy it!

So I decided to upgrade to this egg boiler and for the first couple of months it was amazing. Sleek, efficient and created fab boiled eggs. Now for some reason it leaks water everywhere and the eggs are runny. The alarm goes off after a couple of minutes. My cheaper one is far superior and so I will be going back to that.
