Readable but not great
An okay book but not as good as the Cut and Run series. I actually read this after reading Cut and Run book 5 which features Julian and Cameron when they are a couple. I thought it would be good to find out how they got together but the book was only average and I'm not sure I would have bothered paying for the Cut and Run books (which are quite expensive) if I'd read this first. Readable but not great is my summation.

I found Cameron hard to like, which is difficult with the book largely follows ...
This is not up to the standard set by the Cut&Run books (of which this is an out-of-series prequel to #5). I found Cameron hard to like, which is difficult with the book largely follows him rather than others, and lots of things were left unexplained. Where we could have been following some interesting action, we're left to watch someone worry and pace. Where we could have had some sign of motivation for plot, we're left with gaping silence. Some of this is explained in C&R #5 (Armed&Dangerous), but it leaves Warrior's Cross as less of a stand alone book and more like something that could have been a C&R 4.5 novella and been better for it.

excellent all the way through
I thought it was a great book in every way I loved everything about it ,How could anyone not feel something for the guys who obviously loved each other and had such a difficult time not only with trying to meet up with each other, but with Julian having to keep so many secrets The book is not just about a love story it has a lot of other interest as well and a lot of mystery in the story.I thought it was excellent and worth reading more than once All the books I have read by Madelaine Urban and Abigail Roux have been excellent and well worth reading I will read them more than once

So Good
Such a good book, my heart broke for Cameron, but at the same time it also ached for Julian and the way he was struggling to try and get what he really wanted. I so wanted them to work out and when Altro came in the scene I was actually frightened to carry on reading, but had to know. This is a book you do not want to miss.

Worth reading
This is one of Abigail Roux's and Madeleine Urbans earliest books and while it's a great book the later books are better. I like to read this this book as a prelude to the Cut and Run series.

Entertaining but a little confusing
The romance between the two characters was nicely done. All in all this was a good read although the ending did seem rushed - personally I would have liked proper clarification as to just who Julian was working for. Also, for a man in his profession he seemed incredibly inept from the various injuries he sustained. Lucky for him he had Preston as back up!This novel would definitely benefit from a sequel.

Good read, strong characters
This a a good read for lovers of M/M fiction - almost great - but not quite. The characters are well written and strong - particularly Julian, and the relationship between him and Cameron. But I found Cameron a bit wet and couldn't really get what drew Julian to him - it seemed a bit unlikely that they'd hit it off. The romance between them was a bit sweet for me but well done. I wanted more of the action when Julian was threatened and more detail of why he was being targeted. Not as un-put-downable as other things that Abi Roux in particular has written but worth a read.

Very entertaining
An intriguing story with plenty of mystery and action but I was a bit disappointed at the end - it could have done with a few more pages to explain more about Julian's 'work' and where some of the characters fitted in. There were too many loose ends which is why I only gave it 4 stars. Otherwise a good read.
