Gorgeous, expansive, engrossing fun
This game looks so good. Sequelizing Horizon: Zero Dawn, this game follows Aloy in her next set of challenges now that she’s the savior of meridian. Gameplay is pretty much the same, so all your controller usage will transfer over, but the world is more varied, the challenges are more varied, and the open world offers more opportunities for ADHD missions. If you liked becoming high powered and hard to kill in HZD, you will miss that in this game. Aloy’s power and defenses are kept more in line with her adversaries (or harder to level up) in this game. It makes for better gameplay, but it is a little disappointing after finishing HZD basically on god mode.Only lousy things about this game are the bits that weren’t ready for public production. The map doesn’t display information consistently (some places turn green when you complete them some places display a new symbol when missions are complete, others don’t), which can leave you wasting hours trying to figure out what you’ve missed, when you haven’t missed anything at all. Supplies are often found inside solid objects you can get through to get the supplies. As you get to the end of the game, the NPC archers get annoyingly good, with reaction times only possible if they can read your controller inputs. That said, what a remarkable, engrossing, expansive world of adventures. I spent 160 hours playing through this (I’m bad at games, and very distracted by side quests), and I couldn’t stop. Really enjoyable, addicting, rewarding game. Buy your spouse something nice because you won’t be around much for awhile.

Amazing game, incredible story and better than the original game in every way!!!
Just finished playing this game (main story) today (ps5). The story and gameplay are much more better than the original game. Taken me over 125 hours to complete and thats with exploring the most of the map.Ignore the negative reviews because not everybody who has reviewed this game has played the whole game through, rather a few hours. I think its fair to say you should review the game once you have played it through properly. The graphics are amazing and you can tell developers have put in alot of time and work and I dont regret spending the money to play this game. The game expands upon first game in every way. The story is amazing and the side quests are more interesting unlike some games (assassins creed). The map is massive and there is much to explore in the wild west. There are a range of weapons you can use but you need to level up by doing main and side quests as well as upgrading your weapons. You will need to use different weapons for different enemies depending on there weaknesses. There is also a skill tree where you can upgrade your skills to your own liking. There are some parts of the game liike the tailneck in the middle of nowhere where you cannot reach it at the start or middle of the game. You will have to complete more main quests in order explore certain areas of the game (but your not told that). The ocean is an amazing place. Best Ive seen in a game. The music is incredible to. I love the soundtrack. My favourite is track of the game is: The World on her shoulders.I don't really have any bad points to say about the game apart from the climbing can be abit frustarating at times but nothing to bad.I cannot wait for the next and final game!!!Will be amazing to see what the developers come up with next. Although will be years away, I can't wait to play it.If your thinking about buying this game, dont hesitate buy it worth the money if you like story games.

Very enjoyable game.
Due to arthritic fingers I played it on story level difficulty and that proved to have just enough combat and sufficiently difficult bosses to keep up my interest without my fingers hurting. The game had a few nice twists in the main story line which all added to the interest. I enjoyed exploring the vast open world running into new tribes, people and situations. Some of the climbs were vertigo inducing. I also fell to my death a number of times having fumbled a jump – some require just a nudge forward but others require a full jump pressing X, get it wrong and you fall. I played virtually all side quests and errands which helped give a break from the main storyline. These were well thought out and a good distraction without being repetitive. The rebel camps were also fun to take on by stealth from high ground, picking outliers off until I was eventually spotted usually ending up with melee combat with the remaining rebels. The cauldrons were scary and quite a challenge, not least figuring out how to get to where you are supposed to go; jumping between moving machine arms over deadly force fields certainly focussed attention! I noticed the game finished with a new threat looming in the future, obviously paving the way for yet another Horizon game. Bring it on – I’m up for the next one. :-)As is typical with these types of games the number of skills, weapons and coils were bewilderingly large so I only made use of a few of them. You could spend the rest of your life figuring out all these features to optimise your game play. There were a few software bugs, but not enough to spoil the game. I managed to crash the game once when in the Zenith base navigating a duct by clicking maps and trying to look at the map for the floor above. There was also a bug with the weapon wheel which was very erratic and difficult to select a weapon without it bouncing around other weapons – a search online revealed the cure to be to change the selection speed from slowest to normal which cured the fault. Another bug was with the quest to fly to the top of the mountain. Having got there the four pieces of armour were missing! I checked online footage for this quest and the armour wasn’t where it was supposed to be, so I had to abandon that quest. Another minor glitch occurred after finishing one quest (forgotten which) and I was supposed to return to base but the map wouldn’t show me the base or the track of how to get there! The square box against the quest to “show on map” was also missing. As I didn’t remember its location I just had to carry on with other quests. It eventually reappeared on the map so was able to return.I paid full price for this game and it was worth every penny. Now it is done, my fingers can have a well earned rest. Thank you for making the game fun and suitable for people with less than perfect healthy hands by including story level difficulty.
