TanabeT70130A Medalion Touring Axle-Back Dual Muffler Exhaust System for Infiniti G35 Sedan 2007-2008

Purchased and installed the Tanabe Medalion mufflers on my 09 G37x 7AT Sedan. Install took about 45mins, but that wasn't the fault of the product - I had a tough time getting the original rusty exhaust pipe clamps loose, but I took my time as to not break them. Lots of PB Blaster was used with great success! These mufflers are some of the most beautiful products I've ever seen from an aftermarket company... leave it to the Japanese to make a very functional yet quality design. The welds are amazing!Upon initial startup I noticed the sound was immediately more pronounced with a deeper tone. It's essentially similar to the stock exhaust, but with a deeper and richer quality to it. If you asked me one word about the improvement, it would be 'deeper'. Idle is basically silent, but when you are in gear with load on the motor it really livens up, especially above 4,000rpm. I'm very pleased with the purchase and would highly recommend the axle-back from Tanabe to any Infiniti G lovers. There is no additional drone on the highway when the car is in top gear, which is something I wanted in my daily driver. Other catback systems create a lot of additional cabin drone which kill the experience.I've heard a 500+ mile break-in of the exhaust will help to make it a touch louder, which would be welcomed since these aren't in your face loud.

I didn't notice any HP gains. The sound is only noticeable on high Rpms.

Very easy install, excellent quality, and great price for these on Amazon!However, I hate modified cars, they 9/10 look awful and I thought I had ruined my car after installing these. I ended up removing them immediately and spray painting the mufflers matte black with high temperature paint to to make them look stock (picture posted). Now the only part that is chrome are the tips and it looks more like they belong on the car - I just wish the tips looked a little less obnoxious.Secondly, I was very disappointed by the sound - after hearing the exhaust note from a G37 coupe I really wanted my sedan to sound the same. These mufflers are slightly louder, but they don't have the awesome rasp or burble of the coupe. On the plus side these are never annoyingly loud and still allow you to drive through the neighborhood without causing your neighbors to hate you.In the end I've figured out that 1) this was the best exhaust purchase as far as price, appearance, and keeping the sound at a tolerable but louder than stock level 2) I should have bought a coupe.'07 G35 S Sedan 6MT

As others have mentioned, fantastic fit and finish. Really impressive welds and high quality stainless used. You will think $500 is a bargain once receiving it.The installation was easy but you may want to get new muffler mounts in advance since mine were separating (and rusted). Also get the "donut" gaskets which go between the new muffler and existing pipe. Get both aftermarket since Dealership prices are absurd for these items (ask me how I know).I will also echo the comments on the sound: The idle is a bit throatier than stock but sounds much better at full throttle. Neither are much louder than stock which was my goal. Yes - slightly louder and throatier would have been ok but I'd hate it too loud, so I'm satisfied. No drone whatsoever.Perhaps the only subjective minor con (for me) would be the size of the tips. They are a bit ghetto (aka: large) for the more stately G37 sedan but overall fine.

Just installed this exhaust on my 2012 G37S 6MT Sedan. Construction is great, finish is awesome. Installation was a breeze. It sounds different from the stock but it is too mild for my taste. I was not looking for an exhaust to wake up the neighbors but I did want something that matches the beasty performance of the G37 - something close to the G35 Coupe's tone. This is definitely much milder than that. That said it does have a nice throaty growl and is nice in its own way. I have just put it on and it may break-in to be more pronounced.When I ordered the exhaust, looks were not the prime consideration. But boy am I surprised her.... It literally changes the appearance of the car. It makes it look macho yet classy.I am based in Canada so I had to order it to be delivered to a friend in US and then carry it over. Amazon has the best price out there and that combined with free shipping, it is the best deal by far.It'd have been 5 stars if the sound was a little more aggressive. Over all very happy.

Beautifully made and easy to install. I jacked up the car just a little to make it easier to get under it. One clamp two rubber mounted hangers and some WD40 and off the old mufflers came. The new units aligned and fitted perfectly on both sides. Its not loud. It has a deeper tone at idle than stock but is subtle until you hit the gas and then it growls as the revs pick up. At between 3K and 4K rpm everyone knows its not a stock exhaust but still not super loud. The chrome tips are round not oval and bigger than stock and now scrape on my sloped driveway. If you are looking to set off car alarms then this is not the system for you. Be aware that they might be illegal in some states.

Construction is fantastic. Made of 300 series stainless steel. Workmanship top-notch. Installation pretty easy. Took me 30 minutes with a jack and a 12mm deep-well socket. The sound is beautiful. Not loud as all H*ll like a ricer, but a mellow, growly sound that is hardly noticable at light throttle but pronounced when the pedal hits the floor. For older guys who like the sound a little more aggressive than stock but have to still worry about waking people in the neighborhood. Best upgrade to my G37 I've done.

Easy to install, good sound with absolutely no drone (even in an auto), pleasantly surprising power gains (had minimal expectations, but could actually feel this). Look-wise, exhaust tips are a bit over the top. Power-vise, you can probably do better with Q300 if you are willing to pay 60% more.
